Originally I thought my bridesmaids would wear simple dresses that hit just below the knee. Now our groomsmen are wearing kilts though and I’m a little worried that it will look funny with the girls in short dresses. What do you think? Will short dresses be too much leg – and make it look like we’re trying to ‘match’ the kilts hem line? Or will it be okay?
Our wedding is outside and I wanted a less formal feeling so that’s why I was going with shorter dresses. The dresses will be black so a long black dress might be too much. As well, I thought short would be perfect as they could wear their dress again as it would be a regular little black dress.
Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Darn it. I linked to a bunch of photos then none of my links would work.
Go to flickr and do a search for "kilt wedding," then see what turns up. There are a few with different-lengthed skirts. I think my favorite are actually the knee-length ones; I’m a fan of symmetry.

My sister had an outdoor, less formal wedding, with men in kilts. The bridesmaids wore tea length dresses and it looked fine. If the wedding feeling is informal, I don’t think you need to stress dress lengths. Good luck!

I think you should not be worried. Kilts like these:
can combine perfectly with almost anything, in any genre.
