One of my friends was considering buying her wedding dress from this site. Being the geek I am, I volunteered to look into whether it was reliable. It is hard to say for sure, but there are a few warning signs. The first one up is the lack of any solid contact information, like an address or a phone number. The second one is the abundance of clones out there, like pamelabridal.com or judybridalshop.com (or sharonbridal.com that is discussed in another topic on this board). The promgowndress.com site does not on first appearance seem to be a clone, but rather interestingly an Ednica Williams from Grenad has left identical reviews, except for the date, on promgowndress and kimlybridal. And promgowndress has been around for long enough for a few bad experiences to be reported on various internet sites. Third thing I came upon was a story about a BBQ owner in Ohio who had dressed a mannequin in a prom/wedding dress from kimlybridal to attract custom, http://promdresswedding.blog.com/2010/05/21/. Same story, but dressing the mannequin in a bikini, was reported in China Daily http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/life/2009-05/20/content_7886144.htm. This is most likely aimed at getting it picked up by Google et al. and possibly also adding credibility with those who read the story. Similar thing with pamelabridal (and sharonbridal.com and viviennebridal.com that also make appearances on this site) and Lee and Tom’s wedding blog (Tom being the bride, and judging by the three photos a bit of a changeling) at http://www.sharedweddings.com/blog-2497-3160. If you can pay by paypal/credit card you may try and see what happens, but I’d prepare myself for the eventuality of receiving a cheap copy or nothing at all and having to get my money back.

hello just would like to advise i just ordered a copy of my dream dress that i found on alfred angelo web sight. Unfortunately this dress on alfred angelo cost me around $2000 which financially i just could not afford 🙁 i lucky to find KIMLYBRIDAL and found my dream dress for $240 australian dollars. I just ordered it in May 2011 and requested for it to be ready in july 2011. Kimlybridal were fantastic, i kept intouch with emails and they always replied and kept me posted. My dress just arrived today in gold coast Austalia 30th june 2011 right on time. because i got my dress so cheap i was not expecting anything great. to my great surprise my dress is absolutely beautiful the quality is amazing its beautiful lined and all.

I had tried Alfred Angelo dress on in a shop and honestly i can not tell the differenc expect i only had to pay $240 not over $2000.

Big thank you to Kimlybridal if was not for them i would not have been able to afford my dream dress 🙂

for anyone saying negative comments and questioning the website, i can now advise you after being a very happy customer ordering my dream dress with kimlybridal. This website definately produce the dress of ones dreams and at a budget.

Don’t use Kimlybridal. My soon to be wife ordered her bridesmaid dresses through them. They arrived yesterday and they are not at all what she ordered. The confirmation order email clearly states that the dress where meant to be in all navy but they’re three completely different shades of blue. She contacted them and they basically said “the dress is navy”, so we’re not going to fix it. It’s 7 weeks to the wedding now and she’s freaking out understandably. DON”T BUY FROM THEM!

@Castro39: I got my dream Lazaro on Kimly and when my dress was shiped I got a conformation email from David’s Bridal. I tried on other Lazaros in the store and when my dress came I was amazed. The material is beautiful and the beeding is wonderful. On further examation I have found one olace where about an inch of beeding is missing and does not mirror the other side. I think that the dresses not knock offs but rather a second. It seems like David’s bridal is selling their defective dresses through Kimly. My defect is so slight and I paid 300 insted of 4500. I couldnt be happier, but I have a feeling its a little bit of a risk. The web sight does say they take returns.

My friend ordered from there. She was very happy with the result (a pronovias copy). It wasn’t an exact copy, but for one tenth of the price, it was good enough. When she took the dress to the seamstress, the seamstress could find some flaws in it, but nothing we guests noticed. She looked amazing. Now I’m looking to do the same with my dress 🙂
