I agree about the not married, or engaged… but serious relationship? Those of us in serious relationships but not engaged are typically the ones that want to catch it the most (since the old wives tale says you will be the next to get married). At my BF’s sisters wedding, she tried (and succedded) and rigging her toss to come my way, in hopes that it would be a sign her brother would propose soon.

Ugh – i hate the bouquet toss. When I’ve been forced up there, I always stand to the back and about five feet away from the crowd. I’m sure it makes for some interesting pictures as I am clearly totally disinterest, with a drink in hand.

It’s really pushy and kind of rude. Does it not occur
to these people that not *everyones* life long dream is get married like them? Maybe that long-time couple is happy just in relationship without any formal, legal label. *facepalm*

+1 “No wedding on the horizon” is exactly the way I think of it.
I have cousins who were engaged without a wedding date for YEARS… you better believe their fiances were ready to catch the bouquet!

But it’s *not* fun when you do not want to participate and people try to force you by physically pushing you out there or have the DJ call your FULL NAME to get you up there.

No, that would be awful! I just meant if you WANT to participate. Nobody should be forced! I woucall ever call someone out like that, that sounds horrible!
