Oh man, its attached? thats odd. Well could you maybe have a very experienced seamstress take off the parts you don’t like & replace it with different fabric? I really don’t know what else to say.. is it to late to order a new dress?

I know this is not actually the most helpful, but I think it looks pretty.  It is different, but it doesn’t look bad and the dress is GORGEOUS.<br />

I think it’s beautiful as is.  The different colors of the belt give the dress an extra dimension of oomph.

I understand how that can be frustrating, they should have been upfront about all the colors and details before your order– you should demand a discount!

I think it will be beautiful, and I would wait until you have it in front of you to decide if you don’t like it.

It could just be the lighted, and in a more lit up room they will match a little more.

angyjaxon:  I second that. The color of the sash is just a hint off so it lets the beauty of your dress really pop. I think it wouldn’t like it if the sash and dress would match with the exact same color.

But I understand if you feel otherwise. Until March is a super long time to worry, freak out and tons of dress regret. Do you think you can try to hunt that dress down in white to check it out? Maybe even try pre owned wedding dress sites, I would let a desperate bride look at my dress even if she has no intention of purchasing..

Good luck to you!! It really is a beautiful dress!!

I agree that IF the belt is indeed a slightly different white, u may end up loving it. The tulle that got added in under my dress was ivory and the dress is white. At first I freaked out but the color variation in pics is actually very classic and visually interesting. I’m so glad it worked out that way. Just wait it out and see how it looks in person and snap a few pics to see if u end up liking it.

I agree with the prior posters. I actually think it sounds better with a little color deviation. But if you don’t like it and the belt color is TOO different, maybe you could ask them to add more crystals. Bedazzling the belt more might distract the eye. It is a beautiful dress though so it will be gorgeous no matter what!

AdaLee:  the belt looks like a shade of one of your wedding colors, based on PP, so it goes overall. I think you should trust the designer since this belt is a signature part of this dress, and he’s not exactly a slouch.

But if it bothers you that much, maybe alterations can take the belt off and you can get an all white one.

AdaLee:  Try accesorising it?.. with a matching or similar wrist band or headpiece you can tie it mors solidly into your outfit and make it more of a feature then a flaw!

Yep, you could try adding beading all over the sash (even clear crystals) but the silver in the rhinestones will make it look “off” regardless.

Given the picture you’ve seen isn’t professional with the correct lighting, I think you’re worrying over nothing. Honestly, sincerely, and truly! Don’t fret!

AdaLee:  I do agree with PP – that the dress is beautiful and that even if the belt is a slightly different shade then it actually really works. That said, if it’s not what you want then that is a problem. A few thoughts:

Those are not the best photos to go off. Perhaps put out an appeal on the bee for any other brides with the same dress asking for actual photos? Although it would be nice to see the dress in person, you don’t absolutely need to in order to get an idea about the belt shade. Could you ring some of the further away salons with the dress and ask if they could email you photos of their sample? Also, could you ask Kleinfelds if they have any other brides who have ordered the same dress and will be getting it earlier than you? If so, perhaps you could have a peek at theirs when it arrives.

Contact Kleinfelds or Lazaro and find out if the belt is permanently attached to the dress. Even if it is, find out whether there is an option to get this altered (so that it is separate) since your dress isn’t finished yet. If the belt can be detached, then I would consider this your back up plan and not give it anymore thought until it arrives in March. You can always add a purely sparkly belt, or better colour matched one for much less than the cost and hassle of replacing the whole dress.

Lastly, if the belt can’t be detached, is there any chance you’d prefer it in a different colour that contrasted more significantly with the dress, such as the one on the sherbert version? It might also be possible to arrange this.

I hope you find a solution that makes you feel better while you wait for your dress to come in. If the worst case scenario is that it looks like the pictures you posted above, you are still going to be a stunning bride. I just hope that you feel it too! Good luck!
