My bf and I have been together for over 3 and a half years. He brought up marriage seriously a few months ago, and we went to a jewelers and picked out our rings. Since we have an exact date for our wedding, we just booked our venue (it’s a Saturday in June, so everywhere was booking already for it). Now we’re looking into photographers and everything.
My only issue is….he hasn’t proposed! He keeps saying he’ll do it before June, but he has already asked my parents and everything.
I can’t tell any of our friends or my family about the venue we booked and it’s driving me insane! I want to be openly engaged, and June is so far away to me!!
He wants it to be “super special” and I thought he was going to do it on our trip in March to Chicago, but that trip is now cancelled! I really hope he’s not waiting for Valentine’s day, because that is….kind of dumb.
Lately he’s been really teasing me (not even on purpose..he’s oblivious to it)…like we were driving home one night and he took the “wrong way” but he happened to drive by my favorite bridge that years ago he said a ton of people get proposed to at. The other weekend we went on a date to our favorite restaurant, so I was hoping there would be something there….and then another night he bought us a bottle of wine spontaneously but nothing came of that either.
GRR anyone else want to vent?

a very similar situation when I was waiting.. he would host all of these really cute situations so I was thinking it was happening.. so that when it did happen I was surprised. I had been bugging him
SO I DID THE SHUT IT UP PACT! and it worked.. he thought that I had gotten over my needing it stage.. and he did it. He thought none of the other moments were right yet because I would be expecting it.
I say relax, shut it up, and do your nails girl!

@Seashells7: lol that sounds like the best idea! easier said than done, but obviously more helpful in the long run!!

@lauraashley09: you are telling me.. there were days where i literally felt like I was going to explode with every emotion in existance. But it did work.. and the instant he proposed, it ALL WENT AWAY
and like me, you already have a date. I had a date too, and looking back now that i am engaged, I should have focused on that. him proposing was incredible and it will be for you too.. but the days until you are married are still going down!
good luck!
