mymilton:  I’m a huge fan of lip stains! Gorgeous saturated color, doesn’t dry your lips, last for hours through eating, drinking, and smooching! Tons of color choices too. You can find covergirl ones at the drug store or here’s a nice Stila one from Sephora…. since you don’t like matte, you can top it with any of your favorite non minty balms and it won’t displace the color!

Revlon makes a lip stain balm.  lasts most of the day for me and doesn’t transfer after its dry.

I wanted RED lips, and I ended up using a red lip pencil (from Nyx I think; a pretty dry formula, not too creamy) lightly and applying this lip stain on top: http://www.sephora.com/rouge-infusion-lip-ink-P384875?skuId=1626662. I blotted a bit after it dried, and it stayed put through the first kiss! I had to touch up later in the evening after eating/ talking a lot, but it didn’t dry my lips out and didn’t look unnatural like some heavier liquid lipsticks can.

Sephora makes a great lip product that goes on like a gloss, stays on without transferring, but it does dry with a matte finish.

I use lipstains. Can’t recall the brand off the top of my head since I just buy whatever is pretty.

Kat Von D liquid lipstick for dark or bold matte colors. Tarte balm stain for a softer look. I swear by these two products. I have the Kat Von D in Lolita and Double Dare (or Double Date?) and always get compliments. My signature lip is Tarte Exposed, but I also love Envy and Hope.

mymilton:  Chanel rouge double intensite!! No marks left on the cup when I drink water. One side is a stain/gloss while the other side is a clear gloss that will give you shine and lock the color one more time. try testing it out if you’re around Chanel sometime. Of course no stains even after kissing. I gave up on strong colors for a while since I started dating my fiancé but this one truly stays on your lips

MadameX:  is that lip stain kind of thick and semi-opaque? (that’s how it looks in the picture.) or is it clear and thin (like bene tint)?

sporkette:  Hey sorry for the late reply! It’s buildable so it can be pretty opaque, at least in the darker colors (I only have red and berry shades in this formula). It’s kind of like a gel texture (as opposed to a liquid) so it goes on a bit thicker.

Hi! Not sure if you are asking for everyday or just the wedding, I wear a nude lip 99% of the time that I make myself. I can’t stand anything dry on my lips! So I knew during the first kiss there would be transfer. So after the first kiss I just wiped his lips with my finger before we turned back down the isle. (This is my go to anytime I notice he’s now wearing my lipstick after a kiss haha!) And it is one of my favorite pictures from the day. It looks so loving!

I’ve bought a few of Rimmel’s Provocalips 16Hr Kissproof Lip Colour and I must say that I have been pretty impressed with it, especially at the price, and it lasts for hours and doesn’t transfer. It doesn’t dry, and every now and again I apply the balm to ensure it doesn’t dry out. At the price, you can’t really go wrong.

mymilton:  I really like Wet N’ Wild’s lip stain.  They’re semi-sheer and last forever, they don’t feel dry.  Price is practically free.  And best of all, Leaping Bunny certified!  For fancier lipsticks I love Lipstick Queen (also cruelty free, I won’t pay for animal torture for my own vanity), they have arguably prettier and more sheer products but they cost around $24 a piece compared to $2.

But bear in mind that price of a stain, for me anyway, is that as your lips exfoliate you can get some uneven wear so if you’re wearing it on your wedding day and you have dry lips you’ll want to reapply from time to time.  This is an issue for lip-biters such as myself, you may have no problem with it.
