What about a wedge shoe? What does your dress look like?

mhood00:  I wore a wedge shoe. They were nothign special or pretty – no one saw them. After the ceremony, I changed into flipflops wedges and wore them all night. Again – no one saw them and had any clue!

I wore very comfortable (unsexy) low platform heels and even with those, my feet hurt by the end of the night. I can’t imagine dancing all night in high heels! I highly recommend comfortable shoes since they will almost not be seen at all.

mhood00:  I have this same question!  My top priority in shoes for the wedding is comfort, since I’ll be on my feet all day and I hate wearing heels.  I’d like to have at leat a small heel because I think it looks nicest – but I definitely need to find the comfiest pair I can!

mhood00:  I wore low (2.5inch) heels for the ceremony, drinks reception and meal, then changed into higher heels (3.5 inches) in the evening, changing back into the lower heels at about midnight when I changed my dress. I was in shoes and on my feet pretty much constantly (apart from during the meal)  from 12pm-3am (when I sat down), and was fine.

mhood00:  the lower pair were peep-toes, so quite closed-in and supportive, the second pair were scrappy sandals. I’d planned to wear the second pair throughout, but bought them before my dress, and when I tried the with the dress, which was way heavier than anticipated, I didn’t feel quite stable enough walking with the train, so bought the lower pair. The higher pair were fine when my dress was bustled (plus they lifted my dress off the floor slightly), but I’m glad I had the lower ones for the rest of the day.

mhood00:  I have the Crystah shoes in red for my wedding, and they are pretty comfy for me! They are also really beautiful!

All the shoes pictured are beautiful.

I am concerned about small diameter of the heel itself on all of the shoes. Will it be a problem at your outdoor barn wedding?

Kitten heels are definitely comfortable for long periods, but for outdoor I would def recommend wedges. You could always change in to a prettier shoe after the ceremony, especially if you’re doing a garter toss, where your shoes will be visible. I’m wearing purple suede high wedges until the garter toss, then changing into Reef platform flip flops for comfort.
