To give you a little background: we adopted a 4 1/2 month old kitten from the humane society in September 2006 and she was the queen of the house. We then got a 2 month old puppy, Fisher, Thanksgiving 2008. Never really had any problems with the dog and cat; he wanted to play with her, she didn’t, so she mostly ignored him and tolerated him. Our cat was killed by a coyote in May and my husband and I missed having a cat, so we ended up adopting a 2 1/2 month old kitten, Alvin, from the humane society about 2 weeks ago.
Alvin wants to snuggle with Fisher all the time. He’s even tried to nurse a couple of times. We checked with the vet and its normal behavior…Alvin thinks Fisher is his mommy. They get along great, Fisher even helps us when we tell Alvin “no”.
The last couple of nights, Alvin has decided to pee in one of Fisher’s beds, which is in our bedroom. Fisher uses the bed most nights, but ends up on our bed around 5am, which is when Alvin pees in it. Does anyone have any ideas on how to curb this behavior? He’s fully litter trained and hasn’t had any accidents in the house.
