Aww, what a sweet kitty! One of ours used to bring hair elastics up onto the bed and play with them while we were trying to sleep, which was cute but really freaking annoying.

My cat has decided that he must play in our kitchen when we go to bed. He likes the cabinets, but he is in LOVE with the top of the refrigerator. When we woke up this morning he was cuddling a bag of Herr’s Old Bay potato chips–I wish I had a picture of it, but instead I will include a gratutious picture:

Omg, what is it with cats and bedtime? We just put a bed skirt on the bed and now Cosmo thinks it is the perfect hiding spot, and you can’t put an arm or leg off the bed without him launching a surprise attack on you. And if he isn’t doing that then he is IN the bed, under the covers, spooning with me. And Cleo is just as bad, while we sleep she tips over the laundry hamper and drags clothes all over the house, especially socks, she loves socks and hides them everywhere. I don’t think I’ve worn matching socks in 3 years.

My Rubycat is pretty much on a human sleep pattern (with naps during the day, too, obviously!) so when she sees we’re off to bed, she follows us and curls up on the bottom of the bed.

Except recently, she’s noticed that I move onto my back during the middle of the night and sees this as an excuse to come and lie on my chest. I’ve woken up many a morning to see her face right up against mine.

On occasion she’s been known to wriggle in between me and my SO and lie in the middle of us like a little baby.

My kitty, Klunk goes into what we call “Crazy Kitten Mode” and it’s usually around 11:00 at night when this occurs (although it can happen randomly during the day too). Anyway, when he is in crazy mode, he will run up and down the stairs and jump on and off of furniture while making a funny half growl/half meowing noise. His tail will also get extremely poofy during this time. We figure it’s him letting out his energy or something and just becoming a wild cat for a few minutes. We’re really not sure. Anyway, occasionally he will also carry around a toy mouse at this time that makes noise when he plays with it and he will leave it in my bed when this happens. It’s pretty cute! Also, attached is a picture of my crazy little guy. 🙂

@Kalamaz17:  Aww. Thank you! Mickey is a very pretty lady cat! She looks so sweet! 🙂

You’re right though. I should try and record that sometime. I do have a video of Klunk playing fetch with his mouse toys. Sometimes I think he’s more like a dog than a cat. 😛

Hahaha, I love to hear all your kittie stories!

I woke up several times with toy mice in next to me. I also found them in a glass of water, my shoes, a baking dish, and the toilet!

One of our cats often makes a big commotion, meows really loudly in the other room, then comes closer as you call him until you see the toy in his mouth. If you praise him, he drops the toy instantly and moves on with his life.
It took us forever to find out what he wanted. First, we thought he was sick, because it’s the same deep, throaty meow as when he’s not feeling well. Then we thought he hated the toys so we tried to hide them. Finally, I found something about this behavior on the internet, and we started to praise him when he did that. Voila! That was exactly what he wanted!

Kitty loves you and only has so much to work with. It’s not like cats can go to the florist shop. Be thankful the gift wasn’t a dead mouse!

I just thought of another thing Cleo does. She is obsessed with shoes, especially ballet flats. She lies on them, rolls on them, digs in them and sleeps with her face smooched into the toe of them. And if I’ve kicked them off and they aren’t together, she’ll drag one over to the other so she can lie on them both at the same time.
