I have an appointment at Kleinfeld tomorrow and am so nervous & excited! I have already been to two salons, and found liked one or two dresses but didn’t really feel amazing in any of them.
Is there really a “feeling” you get when you find the “right” dress??? I’m at such a loss for picking out a dress that (1) I love, (2) actually looks great on me, and (3) makes me feel beautiful. Maybe part of it is that I keep looking for my parents to have an emotional reaction to one of the dresses that I try on. I don’t know.

I went to Kleinfeld’s as well. You will certainly know when it’s the right dress because you do NOT second guess it. My dress was the only one I actually saw myself walking down the aisle in, and the only one to make me cry.
It is out there, girl, trust me! Post some pics of the dresses you try on tomorrow!

That is awesome!! I would have loved to have an appointment there, but sadly, I live way too far away and I don’t know that I could afford their beautiful dresses. Have fun and I can’t wait to see pics!! 😀

@klynne: My favorite designers so far are: Lazaro, Romona Keveza and YSA Makino. The way that Kleinfeld (ideally) works is: you create an online account, select your favorite dresses from their online selection, and print your top five to show your consultant for them to use as a basis. I know that plenty of women arrive with pictures from magazines as well. I’ve got a little folder all packed up and ready to go! haha…

@Dixonswife: I have no idea who my consultant is going to be. I never even thought of asking! lol I’m not going to be on “Say Yes to the Dress.” I did not apply to be on the show and truthfully as much as I enjoy watching some reality tv shows I’m oppossed to being on them. I just don’t trust editors, and how things are pieced together to create an audience capturing show. Of course I LOVE watching the show and will probably DIE if I get to meet Randy!

@Rubbs: Were you able to take pictures of each dress you tried on at Kleinfeld? When I made the appointment, they said that I would only be able to take pictures of the gown that I purchased (if I purchase one).

WHen I was shopping and finally found the dress, I knew it. There was no doubt in my mind I loved the shape, style, details, it made me feel beautiful and confident and even though no one else liked it i still go it. Cus I wouldnt wear something i didnt like. Just trust your gut! Good luck and have fun

I went to Kleinfelds too! But I did not buy my dress there. I found the whole thing to be pretty overwhelming. Randy wasn’t there when I was there – they have a “new Randy” – his name is Terry, and he is awesome. My consultant was Erika (she’s not on the show) and she was a total pro.
I just didn’t get “the feeling”. So, I didn’t buy. I’m glad I didn’t settle.
Please check back in and tell us how it goes!

I don’t think you should walk into shopping thinking that you’ll have a special feeling or start crying over a dress. There are so many threads fulls of bees who never cried.
I honestly loved almost every dress I tried on. In the end, there were 6-7 dresses I could have honestly seen myself wearing down the aisle. But, maybe that’s because I love bridal fashion (not into fashion overall, so that’s kind of funn).

That’s exciting! I went to Kleinfeld’s for my dress, and my only recommendation is that you make sure they don’t rush you. I ended up buying a dress at my first appointment, only to cancel it when I realized I had felt rushed into buying it and it wasn’t my dress. The second time, they gave me the time and attention I needed to be able to make a better decision. (DO NOT buy a dress until you are 100% sure, because you do not get a refund on the deposit, only a store credit, and if you decide your dress is not there you will be forced to buy from there anyway.)
P.S. I didn’t really cry when I found my dress, or have that “moment.” Everyone else liked a different dress better, but I went with my gut. Try not to let the experience overwhelm you, because it can feel like a whirlwind!
Good luck and have fun! Let us know when you find the dress 🙂

I tried on about 20 dresses.. and even though I liked all of them, when I found the one… I knew it. I didn’t cry or anything.. but you just know. I couldn’t imagine getting married in anything else, and I took my dad to see it the very next day!
