I’ve done it to myself, working out too much. I’m icing it and taking ibuprofen, but I don’t know what else to do. I want to keep exercising, but I’m not sure what I can do that won’t make it worse. Even more important, though, I need to be able to walk and dance on my wedding day! In heels!

@marjojo: I think you are just going to have to let it rest. I would try to stay off of it as much as possible. Can you go swimming as a form of exercise if you feel so strongly about exercising. That way you can still get your workout in without putting too much pressure on your knee.
Other than that, just rest it and ice it, it should be better in a week.

Definitely rest it! I second the swimming suggestion, but I know you’ve been working REALLY hard to get in shape for the wedding, and I bet you look amazing!!! One week of rest and healthy diet is not going to change that!!!

Is Voltaren gel available in the US? My mum uses it on her terribly arthritic knees, and I’ve used it hiking before. It’s amazing stuff. The only thing is though, because it’s very potent you shouldn’t take oral anti-inflammatories at the same time (so no ibuprofen etc).
Other than that, depending on what kind of injury you have, it may be worth a trip to the physio to get it strapped up to stabilise the joint and prevent further damage whilst still exercising.
