I don’t have a picture to post right now, but my e-ring and wedding band are both knife-edge with pave set diamonds on each side. There’s no particular reason why you should or should not go with a knife edge, it’s really up to you. For what it’s worth, I have no complaints about mine.

    Ambers61582:  I really think you should try one on before purchasing it. I tried a knife edge ring on and it was extremely uncomfortable. It was the right size too. On the other hand, my friend has one and has no complaints;

    I love it- it’s quite substantial but the knife edge makes it look more delicate and slight then a regular flat or domed band. Mine was uncomfortable until it was sized properly, now no issues just love!

    I love my knife edge (although I get what citysparkle is saying, some people find it uncomfortable — I did too until I got used to it).

    I like that it gives the ring a more dainty look from the front, but still has substance that you can see from the side. Hopefully these pics show what I mean:

    Ambers61582: I agree with PPs, it would be good to go try them on first and see how they feel — some people are more sensitive to them!

    I have a very subtle knife edge, and have had no issues with discomfort. I absolutely love the way it looks! Here are two pictures!

    I have a 0.80ct knife edge and am in love with it. I hear you on the heart fluttering! I’ve had mine for a year and still get lost in staring at it.

What I love about it is that up close, it looks like a solid, substantial ring. But then when you hold your hand away from you, when the light catches the edge, it appears to be a skinny and delicate band. My other favourite part, is that mine tapers from wider at the top to thinner at the bottom of the ring and it just adds a little more interest to it than a plain low-dome.

    It’s a classic and timeless setting, and considering how popular it is, I haven’t run into anyone else with it, but have run into 6-prong low-domes. When I read about the setting on the Tiffany site (mine isn’t Tiffany) but apparently they invented it – it’s interesting to read up on how it simply shows off your stone ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve never had any issue with discomfort, but if you’re concerned, try one on ๐Ÿ™‚

    Enjoy!

    diamondlilly: do you know the width of your band? It’s gorgeous! I’m condiering a knife-edge milgrain (sp?) and pave band setting from James allen that’s pretty like pointy like yours.
