Ambers61582:  My husband gave me a knife edge solitaire e-ring with the intention of me going later to pick out the setting I want. Three years later, I still have the knife edge. I agree with PP’s, it was uncomfortable when it was too big, but now feels great. I also really like that it shows as being kind of dainty from up top but is still substantial and sturdy.

ladymeathead: Thank you!!  I do, it’s 2.5mm at the top and 2.2mm at the bottom.  Ooh that band sounds beautiful!!  I was considering something like that, but ended up getting 2 weddings bands – woops!  One is a 1.5mm shared prong and the other is a 1.75mm vintage-style with mill grain (attached)

I love that touch of antique 🙂

hollandaisey:  Thank you! I found a similar band at Greenwich Jewelers in NYC (they are online too), but I had Rosado’s Box on etsy make one for me based on the Greenwich Jewelers design. I believe they now sell mine on etsy but they use round stones where the pears would be. It looks the same, but is definitely a better price the way they show it in their shop!

hollandaisey:  Thank you! If you like it, I’m sure Rosados would make a custom one with the pears instead of the round for you. I looked up the listing with my mold and I think it was named Madeleine on etsy. For reference, with all rounds it said the carat weight was 0.2, but my ring is 0.9 with the pears.

My e-ring has a knife edge band…love it! It’s so comfortable and gives it a really thin look even though it’s substantial. I wish my wedding band was the same, but I got my wedding band first, then the e-ring…LOL and I really didn’t think about matching them up.

Ambers61582:  I love my knife edge band because it’s skinny enough to stack with other bands.

I have a handmade knife edge band in platinum from James Allen and it is super comfortable.  My fiancé initially purchased a lower profiled 2mm comfort band, but I don’t notice any difference between the two bands as far as comfort goes. Both are super comfortable.  I know that James Allen sells a regular knife edge band as well, so I think the handmade one is what makes the band more comfortable.

I loooove my knife edge band! I don’t find it uncomfortable at all. It’s so dainty on top, but still a substantial ring overall and has a lot of presence from the side view.
