I would say suck it up! I mean its not like you are the only one forced to buy a dress from this place. have you spoken to the other girls? Do they have the same worries? If they do, maybe you should subtly explain to the bride that the other dress would be more trust worthy? I am sure the bride doesn’t want you guys having problems with the dresses on the day of her wedding!

i dont know about ordering replicas but this is my thought:

if the bride pays for your bridesmaid dress – then you should wear whatever she pays for, even if it looks crappy – it’s the bride’s own fault since it’s her ‘choice’ so you shouldn’t worry

if you are paying for the dress – there are you ways you can approach/look at this:

1.  you saved money – if it looks bad, it’s the bride’s choice and it’s her wedding – if she took that risk of havingt her bridesmaids dress looking ugly, then she has to suffer the consequences (looking cheap in real life or ugly in pictures), unless she buys you guys another outfit

2. suggest to buy real name brand – if it’s around $200 it’s not an expensive bridesmaid dress -hopefully the other bridesmaids’ budgets aren’t tight.  but i would never ask someone to buy a $200 dress and would be paying for my bridesmaids

good luck!  show us the dress once you get it! i’d be curious to see

We used vponsale(dot)com for my friend’s wedding. They were sent from China. We took our own measurements and emailed them to the company. We also specified the dress style and color AND that we were all in the bridal party together (so that all 5 dresses would be from the same shade of dyed navy satin). I was nervous, since we were all out of town and we didn’t see each other until 2 days before the wedding, but they all matched perfectly. Mine fit very well too and no alterations were necessary. I was pleasantly pleased and the dress was about $94, free shipping. Although I’m not sure I’ll do this for my own bridesmaids (I really want to touch and feel the material before we decide on a dress, something you can only do in a store here).

You may want to suggest one of the other knockoff sites that are pretty popular.

Milly Bridal, Dressilyme, April Bridal are some pretty popular sites.

Dressilyme or April bridal. Milly didn’t respond to my mail so I am not sure about them but think their quality might be on top! Order with them in time.
