@Lealea:

i hear you,  my dress is made of taffeta and so was the original,  (i get my dress on Monday so havent felt what its like yet)  the photographs they have sent me,  makes me think that the fabric they have used, although they say its taffeta,  looks flimsyer than on the origial dress.  but no matter,  the price tag was 10 x what the original would have cost me so i suppose they have done there best with the fabrics they have at there disposal.   i hope i am pleasantly surprised when it arrives, but for the £165 i paid, i dont think i could have made it myself for that price.

@Lealea:

Thanks!! I have always wondered how well built their dresses are. I almost went with them after reading so many positive reviews. But for my dress there was lace so I needed to find a good maker for lace style dresses. I think its always important to find the makers for the kind of dress you love.

Monicas seems to always produce great results for a food price.

I am actually the owner of the original Simone so i would like to comment as well.

To be perfectly honest, this knock off is well made, but its totally a knock off. be aware that this seller wont provide you a guarantee that it cleans well and wont be destroyed by detergents in the dry cleaning. the beading is very bad and does not look even close to this one in original simone. please ask for the bck picture as well because the back in the original one is gorgeous. one more think. the fabric of original gown was very very VERY heavy, so be prepared 🙂 i really keep my fingers crossed for both you and Simone and hope you will be very very happy with your gown!

if you are interested, i can provide here a picture of my gown, so you can see the difference “in reality”.

best regards!

I don’t think she intended to have a 100% replica. There were a few things she wanted changed. It was more about the inspiration from Simone. I think the inspiration was well done. If she is happy with her gown then just let her be happy. Also she said the beading wasn’t perfect and she wasn’t happy with that aspect. I think she will be adding a few touches of her own. This was probably more about saving money and finding a dress that would suite her style. I think maybe you were a little harsh.

@nil:  It’s a problem here too … in NY’s Chinatown the little stores have “secret” knock-off rooms that sell copy designer handbags.  There is a reason these dresses don’t look as good as the originals, and a lot of it has to do with the fabric chosen and the fact that it’s a fake.

A really good friend of mine is a screen printer and she just found out that her artwork had been stolen from her and copied for profit by a chinese company, and she has had very little recourse. My friend is the one who put all of the work and effort into the artwork and production yet now she is being ripped off.

While I know many of the brides on here want their dream dress at a reasonable cost, I think it’s really wrong to buy a replica. Please opt for once wed sites or sample sales, your dress will be of a lot better quality and you won’t be supporting such a crooked practice.
