Well if your date is correct (7.31.15) then you’ve got a good amount of time before you should be worrying about alterations πŸ™‚ You probably don’t want to get them done any more than six months out just in case your body changes!! I just moved here as well, but ordered my dress from out of state, so I’ll be looking as well. I’ll let you know where I go, but I’d also suggest yelp reviews, or the actual vendor reviews from the wb site πŸ™‚ best of luck!

I used Kirsten Tucker in San Mateo, She’s the costume seamstress for the SF Opera and her pricing was really reasonable. Also she works out of her own home.

My chi pao was altered by Angela @ Atherton Dry Cleaners and Alterations. She was AWESOME. Her pricing is even more reasonable and she’s great to work with. I’d have her quote out your stuff. πŸ™‚

The store where I bought my dress (Gabrielle’s Bridal in Campbell) has referred me to “Just My Size Tailoring and Alterations”, 2395 S. Bascom Ave, Campbell CA 408-559-4066.

I have my first apt with her tonight, I can let you know how it goes! πŸ™‚  I need some major alterations, the dress is a bit too big (my gut told me to buy the smaller size, but they recommended against it and I was afraid of it being too small), and I need the staright across neckline altered to a sweetheart!

Anne Ventresco was my tailor.  She was INCREDIBLE.  Can’t say enough about her.  She was also very inexpensive.  One thing, in case you have allergies, however, is that she has a cat.  (She works out of her home).  Sometimes her response to email is slow, but once you get a hold of her and you have your first appointment, she’ll schedule your next few fittings and then you’re golden.

@nicoliolihpf: just seeing this thread again! Did you find someone yet? I just got my dress yesterday, so I need to start *actually* thinking about this now LOL. I’ve put it off, but I can’t do that any longer.

@Mimi1201: PMing you πŸ™‚

@vickyness: thanks!

@canuckbee: ooh that’s close to me, I’ll def check her out!! How’d your first appointment go?!

@Ginger123: I’ll look into her, too. Thanks for the yelp link!

ETA: If you ladies don’t mind, what did you pay for alterations? I don’t think I’ll need anything major done, but I haven’t taken her out of the box yet to try on!!
