I am still searching for a venue. I’ve ruled out a ton of hotels, halls etc. I want to have a small, intimate, quick ceremony and dinner. I’m looking for a restaurant that has a garden area to accommodate a small ceremony (40-50 people) and good food for dinner. Anyone know of a good spot? I’m already waiting to hear back from Wahoo grill in Decatur, my coworker says they have a nice garden. I also checked Canoe but their rental fee and price per person is more than I want to pay.
PLEASE send your suggestions. I don’t get out much and I’m not familiar with all of the intimate restaurants Atlanta has. I’m sure there is a ton of them.

Darn it..I was gonna suggest Canoe.
There is a beautiful spot in Cumming (Forsyth) I wrote about on the ATL boards a few months back. Tam’s Backstage. Has beautiful (and I mean beautiful) gardens, two gorgeous event rooms (one is themed in midsummers’ nights dream and other in Phantom of the Opera) and you could get married either in their beautiful outdoor gardens or in the beautifully restored theater they have on site.
Great food, great wines, and I think there is a minimal if no rental charge for the event space. I’d def check them out!

- Wedding: April 2011 - Anthony’s Fine Dining
I’d also check Feast in Decatur…it’s similar to Wahoo. Ray’s on the River is amazing, but it might be in the same price range as Canoe. I’m getting married at Anthony’s Fine Dining, which is more of an events facility than a restaurant, though they are open for a la carte. Their food is AMAZING and the house is really unique. Their website doesn’t do it justice, but of course I’m biased 🙂

A friend of mine had her reception at Maggiano’s in Buckhead and it was lovely. Very warm and friendly.
