I’m looking for a good videographer around $1500 or less for 12 hours of coverage. I ran accross a couple of videographers that fit well within our price range, but the footage looked shaky. I suppose you get what you pay for, but I thought I’d ask and see if anyone knows of good videographers that fit within my price range. Thank you!

We just went through this and decided that we were ambivalent about video, but here is what we thought of the ones we looked at. Final Take Productions was okay, but not great. Carbon Arc was artsy, had a cool style but the sound on their outdoor demo was bad. Digital Circle was the best by far, though their 8 hour package is about $2000. However, they were willing to deal, so maybe give it a try.

Hi! I’m in the same situation… splurged on our photographers and not much left for videographer.
I’m in the process of contacting local film school and film production programs to see if any students would be interested in shooting our wedding for us. I’m in Vancouver and not sure what’s in Seattle but might be worth looking into.
I spoke to a graduate from a local film program today and he said that equipment rental is about $200 per day but students usually can borrow the equipment for free.
We’re only hiring the students to record the footage, I’m planning on editing the footage myself using iMovie.

thank you, marlanaj and strawberrybaby for your advice! we’ll take a look into those ideas. also, a bride-to-be just told me about a video editing service that she read about in realsimple.com…have someone take raw footage of the wedding and mail it to the company who will edit it for you, which comes out to be around $500. we’re still unsure of what action to take, but we’ll see.

thanks everyone for your suggestions! we picked a videographer over a week ago. however, we haven’t heard from him since we mailed our contract and retainer fee. i know he got it because our check got cashed, so if we don’t hear from him soon, we may have to do another search and consider these suggestions. thank you again!
