- Wedding: December 2011
A week or so ago, I had a severe meltdown: we only have 40ish people of the 150 invited attending our wedding, several of my friends have work related things that keep them from coming to the wedding, we lost our honeymoon due to a clumsy mess-up of my soon-to-be-husband, we had to cutdown our cake because it was too large for our now expected tiny reception, etc.
I had a day of crying and depression wherein even my love couldn’t comfort me. I posted and gotten some well meaning comforting advice and comments.
However, now that my wedding is in 10 days, I’m absolutly happy! Just a few days ago, all I wanted was to get past this day and have all the stress done with. Now all I can think about is how crazy-fun it is going to be with both my fiance and I’s family all together at once, as well as our friends that can attend. All I can think of is all of the support and love, and the music and food, and the love that you two share. I can only imagine how happy we will be together at the reception–all these years of a war with families about trying to get married. I still have all of those problems, but the realization that I get to be married to my love for the rest of my life makes them seem so insignificant and they pale in comparisson!!
So, if you’re newly engaged and don’t think that you’re not going to have a freak-out, YOU WILL!! And if you’re nearly married, just think of the future! And if you’re newly married, congrats! I cannot wait to share in a happiness similar to your own!
Sorry if this was a pointless post, but I just needed to put in my own experience to show that there is light at the end of the stress-filled road that is planning a wedding!! 😀
