@Overjoyed:  Congratulations!  Whenever I sign one of those things, I always think to myself, “This way, if there’s some horrible murder, the CSI’s will be able to track us down and find out if we killed that poor nun.”  Then I mutter, “God I hate David Caruso.” under my breath, the lady helping people sign the book looks at me like I’m a psycho and Mr. 99 has to cough to pretend he’s not laughing….all because of a guest book…..

@Overjoyed:  True! I didn’t need one either, and I don’t regret it one bit. 😀

@Overjoyed:  I’ve never been at a wedding that had one, I didn’t realize people still had guestbooks until I came to the bee…I’ve never signed a guest book in my life…

All I can think of when I consider buying one is that I have never seen one that was not stuffed in the top of someone’s closet, or in a box in someone’s storage or attic.

I really like this new trend of having it be something pretty that can be hung up in the home. You could probably DIY something like that fairly easily, if it’s the money and not the stress that’s causing you to nix it.

I’m so glad I had a guest book, because it allowed me to get this great picture of my adorable guest book table display:

I still haven’t read a single page of what anyone wrote in there, though. It’s been almost a year.

Sooo … obviously totally worth it Tongue Out

I’m taking the yearbook version… we had some of our favourite engagement photos printed in a photobook (which we did ourselves) with lots of space for signatures. I like looking through yearbooks for signatures but to just sign a book seems weird. Reminds me too much of guestbooks at funerals.

We’re having a photo frame.. mat,… signature thing. I can’t see ever breaking the book out.

Totally not having a guest book either. Thought about doing one of those cute fingerprint/tree picture that are so popular on Pinterest right now, but I feel that everyone from my generation is probably going to have that since it seems to be “the” thing to do right now.
