The venue is fairly local, to me. Most venues have a list of suggested vendors/hotels. Some will e-mail you the list, others have it on their website, like this http://www.knowltonmansion.com/ under “resources,” “vendors” – preferred professionals. It will make choices a lot easier, since the vendors on the list have a proven track record with the venue and have the venue’s resommendation. There are 10 hotels, on the list. Your contact person at KM might be able to clue you in to those with the lowest rates, and if any have a shuttle available, for your guests.

P.S. We used Brandywine Valley Talent for both our daughter’s weddings. They have live music – from trios to 13 piece bands, as well as DJs, and DJ/live mix.

So pretty we looked there, congrats! They do know a priest who will come there if you decide that instead of a church.

mrscwynar:  No, I don’t- sorry. A lot of churches are very picky of who they will marry; i.e. my family’s church requires you be a member or relative of a member (Protestant). The venue may be able to help, you though.

We had our wedding there and loved every second of the entire experience.  We used the Hilton garden inn in fort washington and had great experience as well.  Knowlton recommends the four points by Sheraton but I didn’t want my guests dealing w city traffic and i preferred the suburban neighborhood.  Also the ft Washington was a more central location for our rehearsal dinner. good luck and enjoy. I wish I could do it all again at knowlton

We’re getting married at Knowlton in July and have a lot of out-of-town guests as well! Right now, we’re planning on getting a block of rooms at the Four Points by Sheraton, where Knowlton recommends since it will be convenient. A few members of my fiance’s family have never been to Philly and want more time to see it, so they’re getting a house through AirBnB.

We rented an air conditioned school bus.  I think it was around $950.  We had it for 10 hrs and used it to transport the bridal party as well as our guests. It made trips back and forth.  We used Dave Thomas transportation and we’re pleased with them as well.  I think the bus held almost 50 people.  we adored our photographer. John barone.  He s amazing.  I look great in every picture and i never think that !

Purplelicious:  Thanks for the info about transportation – I have been wondering if there is a company that does that! We are still trying to figure out our dj & videographer as well, so if anyone has some recommendations, would love to hear.

Mrscwynar: our wedding is at Knowlton this April. We have booked a block of rooms at Four Points by Sheraton. It’s the closest hotel to the venue (a little more than 10 mins away) and they have a nice lounge/bar area that stays open til 2am on the weekends. I dealt with Wendy Laughton at the hotel and she has been very helpful. The checkout isn’t until noon which is a nice bonus. They do have a shuttle they offer, but it only holds 10 passengers and is $100 each way so we are going to look for other means of transport back and forth.
