I’m not impressed with the Kohl’s registry.
It seems very easy for people to get multiple items off the registry. Still not sure how this is happening, and I have stopped logging on (because I want to be surprised, but my mom is logging on and keeping an eye on things for me). She said there are doubles and triples of items bought. Maybe the person printed the registry off at home and didn’t go shopping for a few days, and in the mean time the item was fulfilled? We also used Amazon and I think it’s awesome how the item doesn’t really show up once it’s been fulfilled. I’m not even that worried about this part of it, because I’m happy with any gifts I get and this could be easily returned/exchanged if needed.
What I am a little peeved about it is that the guests cannot ship gifts to their houses from Kohls.com. I have guests who don’t live near a Kohls, but are coming to the shower and wanted to purchase something online to bring. A handful of them did just that, and the item got shipped to my apartment…my mom is having a fit, because she doesn’t want people feeling like they’re coming “empty handed” or like I already opened/enjoyed all my gifts. So, from now till I head home for my shower, I’m putting aside any/all Kohl’s boxes and loading them in my car to open at the shower. Only to put them back in my car and haul them back to my apartment (6 hours drive one way).
I feel like there is a better way around this, such as having a “ship to bride/groom” or “ship to myself” button on the checkout page. I even had my mom go through a mock purchase and sure enough, there is no option to ship it anywhere besides to me. Maybe it’s not annoying in most cases, because people have the store near them, but I’m from a bit of a rural area and the nearest Kohl’s is about an hour away. Seems like ordering online would be a great option for my situation, but so far it’s not been that great!
