I personally wouldn’t keep something like this. I am always a fan of a favor I can eat or drink.

We wouldn’t take one, as we don’t drink any beverages out of cans. But don’t take offense, as I’m middle aged and cutting back on things in my home, and wouldn’t take most favors offered.

Midwestern 20 something here and I love them too! Fiance and I love to tailgate and go boating, as do our friends. It’s the norm to see koozies at weddings in my area so we happily have a stash of koozies from other weddings. We are going to make the color of ours related to our alma mater because we hope to see them out again. It’s your wedding girl, do it up YOUR way and don’t let something as silly as a koozie worry you. What company did you use??

So I’m a country girl, and I even think koozies are tacky unless you’re doing a really casual outdoor wedding… sorry bee :/ BUT it’s your wedding. Do what you want!!!

I’d never heard of a koozie before reading this post so had to look it up. I love personalised things but it isn’t something I would go for or want to take home.

First time I’ve ever heard of them, but they look quite cute 🙂 Like pps have said…it’s about your crowd. Seems like a real love or hate thing!

My personal opinion on koozies:  I dont use them at all and have never seen anyone use them, but I am from upstate ny.  Then again, most people around here don’t drink beer out of can anyway and pour it into a glass.  For some reason, homebrewing and craft beer have gotten huge recently, so a lot of times beer is not packaged for individual servings.  We also don’t really have to worry about our beer getting warm, and our hands are used to being cold.

However: My guess is that, if you love koozies, other people in your area do as well.  You know your crowd better than anyone. Since the people on the bee will not attend your wedding, it doesn’t matter what we think. I always take the favors at weddings regardless, because to me they are gifts.  And I think it is sort of rude to just ignore a gift and not take it home.  The only time a favor ever “offended” me was when they didn’t have enough chocolates for all the guests, so our table didn’t get any! (Now that I think of it, if everyone was given a koozie but me, I’d probably be annoyed, even if I didn’t plan to use it!)

I LOVE koozies! And I think yours sounds super cute. I have thrown away ugly and unpersonalized ones (like one that was camo and said “the hunt is over,” nothing about the couple. But you can’t please everyone. I would absolutely take your Koozie and use it again, but my grandma probably wouldn’t. When it comes to favors you just have to accept that or not do them at all.

I really think this is regional.  In the south koozies are very common, and we have many from weddings and other events.  We are not doing them as our favors, but we do definitely use them every summer.  People in other regions just don’t appreciate koozies the way we southerners do.  lol

MayBride052016:  i am doing them too, I love them and always use them so I would be happy to get them, not sure why people get so bent out of shape over them lol

I think the state with the heart for your city is a cute idea!

I have more koozies than I can count (seriously, I have a whole drawer full of them – probably at least 30, in addition to some floating around my husband’s truck and my car). Just about every wedding, social event, BBQ, etc. we go to, these are given out. So I wouldn’t take it.

I will say I’d prefer it without the personalization (bride/groom name and date) – but do love the state outline and “Virginia is for lovers.”

I think koozies are extremely regional. We gave them out as favors for our wedding and they were really well received. All of DH’s family is from SC/NC and most of our friends that were there are from GA. Even my NY/NJ family seemed to like them because they could use the koozies on the beach.

I really like getting koozies as a favor because we can take them tubing/tailgating and I don’t care if I lose them or they get dirty. I’m not going to spend real money on a koozie, but I like having them around.

ETA: Our koozies were gray with white lettering and they actually looked pretty good in the pictures of dance floor. Our wedding wasn’t black tie, but it definitely wasn’t casual either.
