Ok, so I’m always on the hunt for fun and useful wedding favors. I mean, when does anyone really care or use the favors they receive at a wedding? I don’t want to do anything like a pretty box with candy. I want it to be something that’s memorable for everyone.
So what about a custom Koozie?
I know what you’re thinking…. TACKY. that was my initial reaction too. But it’s beginning to grow on me a little bit. Why you might ask???
Well my SO and I both come from what I like to call “drinking” families. We all enjoy backyard BBQs and crawfish boils (SO’s entire family lives in NOLA). my sister and her husband host an “adult only” end-of-summer bash every year. Then of course there’s football season tailgating. Summer’s on the lake or gulf… etc etc
Both our families already own their fare share of koozies in all shapes and sizes. And we’re planning on having our ceremony & reception at a beach front restaurant that doesn’t allow glass, so the “glassware” will be plastic cups with the restaurant’s logo on them.
So give me your honest opinions….
Am I crazy to want to order these personalized to fit our big day? Or do they make perfect sense? I haven’t thrown the idea out to SO yet, I’m sitting on this idea for awhile to let it ferment!

We are doing them as our favor. Our venue won’t allow us to bring in bottled beer, so we are going with cans, so we can more a variety verses kegs. Plus we use koozies all the time and our families and friends are all beer drinkers. I have been two a couple weddings where they have had them as favors too.

I really like the idea. It isn’t the most elegant favor, but I would definitely like it and use it if I was a guest at your wedding.
You should add a poll 🙂

I like them too. We use koozies often during the summer. If we attended a wedding and this was the favor, I would be a happy guest.

I think they are fun, we were at a wedding recently where they gave koozies & had a quote that I thought was funny.
“To have and to hold & to keep your beer cold!” loved it!!

No, from me. 🙁
We’re a beer loving family but never in cans even at tailgates.
ETA: OK. I know you can use koozies on bottles as well.
I’m just personally not a fan of koozies.

@AnnieAAA:i literally laughed out loud when i read this! i may have to use it. hahaha

How about a koozie that has a cool design on it, but not your names? I would not use one with the names on it, but if it had an interesting pattern or color scheme, I might!

i even considered the koozies that are shaped better for solo cups…. but i’ve never had a problem getting a plastic cup into a regular shaped koozie.
@Gerbera: i don’t typically pick out cans or cups either! all the koozies in my own collection are the bottle-shaped kind. haha. i love them mostly bc i’m usually enjoying my cold beverage on a HOT summer or fall day. so i find them useful. but sometimes I can’t stand the smell of them.

@crayfish: I agree! I would probably use it (not a beer drinker, but I <3 a good Pepsi!), but not if it had your names and wedding date on it.
I think it would be cute to use a line from your reading or a design that relates to you guys somehow (shared hobby, favorite sports team, etc).

@crayfish:actually this is a great idea… i think the reason i’m on the fence about the koozies in the first place is bc i dont like the idea of having our names/date on the finished product.

I love this idea and would love to get it as a wedding favor

I would have said no until I read that your venue will serve your alcohol in plastic cups. If the drinks are going in plastic cups then I think the koozies are a great idea.

Not tacky at all! VERY popular here! Always love my wedding koozies, and everyone I know does too–even with your names and date! I will be having them, along with another favor at my wedding. The koozies will probably be handed out when you get a beer from the bar, and then will also be in a basket near for others to grab. I’m going to do our monogram on them that is carried throughout the wedding invitations, etc. Here is an example of what I want to do:

For me, I’m not a koozie fan. I don’t drink, so I wouldn’t know what to do with it.
But since you said you have drinking families I think it’s a great idea! My friend got one from a wedding, it says “eat, drink, and be married” and she literally carries it around with her to use. As long as it’s the right crowd I’d go for it!
