hey everyone!
My fiancé and I picked out my ring together and wanted to go with a diamond slightly lower in color. I like a little bit of warmth with rose gold, so I was all for it.
The jeweler sold us a stone that was pretty yellow but insisted that it wouldn’t look yellow once placed in the setting. My fiancé approved it (I wasn’t there) and once again mentioned that we didn’t want it to look yellow, just slightly more brown than white. The jeweler again said the yellow wouldn’t be visible in the setting.
Well, I’ve been wearing it for a week and during the daytime the yellow is quite obvious. In the evening and at night it’s perfect (just a hint of color and depth without yellow) but the daytime light is killing me.
Does anyone else have a rose gold ring with a white halo and tinted diamond? The colors together just look like they clash 😕

Honestly, I think your ring is AMAZING! Yes, I can see the yellow in the center stone, but that is one of the things I like about it. I don’t think the colors clash at all. You need to be happy with it though :/

I think it is beautiful!! When you get to “K” you are going to see some color – mostly yellow but there are stones past J that have a brown tint instead of a yellow one and that will be noted on the GIA report as K- faint brown etc… I think those are GORGEOUS!

I do see some yellow but they definitely don’t clash! It’s a beautiful combination!

First of all, I think the ring is beautiful and I don’t think it clashes at all. I happen to love yellow diamonds, and it looks like a fancy yellow to me.
Secondly, I’m not sure why your jeweler said it wouldn’t look yellow. Ovals tend to show more color than round brilliants, and once you get in the KLM color range, they definitely look tinted. It seems like he was more interested in making a sale than being truthful.
Can you learn to love it? I think it is quite beautiful.

Holy crap I was not expecting this many replies!
Thank you everyone. I think I can learn to love it and maybe upgrade down the line. I’m in contact with the jeweler right now to see what can be done about it so I’ll update then!
I absolutely love it though. It’s just the one thing I would change. I just wish he would’ve been honest about the coloring. Pink and yellow together are not my fave haha. Some more angles for reference.

I think it’s lovely!! The rose gold is beautiful with it. I think it is very elegant! The colour will be more noticeable due to the contrast to the white halo diamonds.

I have a light yellow diamond solitaire dress ring and I chose the diamond. I love the warmth in it!! I absolutely love your ring!! It doesn’t clash at all! I think it’s perfect and unique! I’ve also got a D coloured diamond and I’m now loving the warmer diamonds so much more!! I just think they have character. I really want an unenhanced oval cut large moissy so I can see that warmth! Congrats it’s just beautiful!!

rachelavb: I love warm and yellow diamonds. I also love double halos, ovals, and rose gold, so I am in love with your ring! Have you considered getting it reset in yellow gold? Maybe having the pave replaced with yellow diamonds?
I have this pic saved on my phone(It’s my yellow diamond dream ring when I hit the lotto, lol). I LOVE yellow diamonds, and I think yellow gold looks amazing with them.
