I did read another bride on these boards actually used this photographer and was happy.  Not really my personal style, but they had some nice pics.

One thing I noticed is that you get the shoot and a print with the groupon. It doesn’t mention how much it would cost for prints/album/CD of images.  I think the prior bride had gotten the CD.  So even if it is a legit photog and deal (which it very well may be), they may get you on the back end when you try to get something besides the single print to show for your shoot.

Could still be a good price in total, but there may be other costs that make it not as awesome as 82% off would make it seem!

$175 isn’t THAT great a deal for a boudoir shoot. It seems more like the photographer inflated their “retail” price.

@YSQueen: I know….I have a feeling that $175 is probably near her usual rate, but putting a $900+ retail value next to it surely makes her original price looks good in comparison.

So, the bride on the earlier post said she paid $800 for her shoot…but she got more out of it than just the shoot & one print.  So the photog’s actual price for the services she’s selling on groupon are probably $500 or less (assuming the CD of images is worth at least $300).  Still more than $175, but not quite $1000 or whatever she/he is saying the original package value would be.

While that might make people feel that they have a great deal, I think that giving the realistic price & more info on other likely add-ons would give me more confidence and be more likely to hire them rather than just pretending like its a better “steal” than it really is.  $175 is a good price for that set of services anyway…especially in LA and not having to pay for a studio/hotel fee!  But the photog kind of looks like she/he is trying to get over, so that’s never a good thing.

The bride in the original/review post DID say she was pleased with her photos and experience so it may end up being great!

Love to hear back from the OP once everything is said and done!!
