Hi LA Ladies,
I just got engaged and I’m starting to look for venues for the ceremony and reception. I think I have a good starting list but I was looking for any input that you ladies can provide. We’re looking for a venue where we can ideally have both the ceremony and reception but if it’s only reception that is not a deal breakers. We also want a venue that will allow outside catering/alcohol and that allows music until at least 1am, (these two requirements are a must).
Our guest count will be approximately 175 people. We’re looking for venue primarily in the Los Angeles, SF Valley, Pasadena, Simi, Calabasas areas.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Bees!

I think Union Station allows outside catering and later hours (there may be an extra fee though). Good luck and congrats!

You may have to cross Pasadena off your list because I know they have strict rules about noise past 10pm. I’m not sure about other cities though. Good luck!

Have you looked into Eagle Rock Art Center? I think they allow outside catering. Or the following places–I can’t swear to all of them allowing outside catering and I really don’t know about the 1am requirement (we were looking to do a brunch reception, so I also don’t know about that) but here are a few ideas you can look into:
Women’s 20th Century Club of Eagle Rock
Temescal Gateway Park
Marvimon & Smog Shoppe
Annenberg Community Beach House

@Meowkers: Check out Orcutt Ranch, located near woodland hills, ca. Its a gorgeous venue, and allows outside catering. It’s very affordable, and you can have both your ceremony and recpetion there. They have 4 diff ceremony sites, and an option to do it indoors too. Everything is kinda diy, as far as bringing in everything, even rentals, but you can do as much or as little as you want with the place.

I just attended a wedding in Calabasas at the Upper Las Virgenes Open Space Preserve. It’s way up in a canyon so there’s no one around. You can have music late. And outside catering.
Only problem is, it’s a bit remote and transportation might be an issue.

A blog featured a wedding at this place and it looked pretty but I’ve never personally seen it.

@Sahar: We ended up booking with The Legendary Park Plaza in Los Angeles. They do not have a curfew, (but alcohol service must stop at 1:30am). They also have 4 recommended caterers or you can bring in your own. And they have a full service kitchen which is rare for a facility that allows outside catering.
