@AlmostMrsGiles: Thank you!  My mom loves sashes with dresses, so we pulled this belt and a ‘blingy’ (my mom’s word for it) sash to try on with all the dresses that day.  I ended up loving the floral sash pictured and purchased the sash and lace veil with my Detalle!

I think the sash was by Casblanca.  I would have to double check.  It is being stored at my mom’s house, so I can check the label when I stop by next time.

Here is an extreme close-up of the sash details:

Hi Girls,

Here she is! I fell in love with this dress immediately at the first bridal salon I visited. It just felt “right.” I also had appointments that same day at two other salons where I found similar dresses by Pronovias (not La Sposa), and Enzoani. Both were absolutely beautiful, but Detalle was for me. 🙂 It just so happens that the dress arrived today! It is currently in its bag and shipping BOX (YIKES!!). Cannot wait for my first fitting in Jan. 🙂

The second pic shows the alteration I’ll do to the neckline (to make it a more dramatic sweetheart to accentuate curves). Trust me, I need all the help I can get up there, heh.

Oh, and I just have to add this last thought. You know that time of the month when you feel your heaviest, when nothing but sweatpants seem to fit correctly? I chose that *perfect* time to try on wedding dresses. I tried on some dresses that were – plain and simple – HOT MESSES that may have otherwise looked quite nice. I felt comfortable fitting/ walking/ sitting/ swinging in this dress immediately, even if my love handles were a little…’generous’ that day.

My cycle trips up during times of stress, so I’m fully expecting to wake up in a “sweatpants mood” the day before the wedding. I WILL be in a dress mood on wedding day, even if it means that I need to use every girdle and roll of duct tape {couldn’t resist} in NW Louisiana to make it happen, haha…

@Eweigele: I love it! Will you be doing a sash?

I love seeing these pictures and excitement about the Detalle because mine’s in the mail but I was going back and forth between the Detalle and the Enzoani Erin.

Here’s me in the dress, but it’s about 8 sizes too big 🙂

What kind of veil will you have? What about accessories?

I’ve always dreamed of a floor length veil, and I think I’ll just do pretty earrings because I want to do a sash of some sort.

@Eweigele: You’re right- it’s very light, airy and comfortable with just the right amount of hug to show your shape. It was the first dress that I tried on that I SPUN in and felt very bridal in.

It’s a good thing I have a really busy week lined up because I’m going crazy waiting for it to come in. I should have it by Friday! I’ll be sure to post pictures.

Oh my gosh I love it on you both, @MissTaken and @SunnySquirrel!

@MissTaken, I’ll PM you tomorrow, but just to answer your question above before bed (I am so super excited about this dress that I have tons of energy so hopefully I can sleep, haha): I will probably do asash (that one is champagne double-sided satin), I will definitely wait until Jan/Feb to decide which type. The salon said it takes between 6-8 weeks to get it in. By the way, hundreds of dollars for a piece of satin? Did anyone run across better pricing than about $200?

Regarding the veil, the one shown in the first picture is Waltz (or floor) length. It’s plain, no border. I love it but am holding out on making a final decision until Jan/ Feb on this as well. Mostly because I also love Emily’s veil in her Florence wedding and want to see if I change my mind from the plain veil. (see below)

Emily & James | Wedding

I happened upon the pictures from this wedding on style me pretty right after I bought my dress. It only made me feel better about the decision! All of the pictures in this wedding are simply beautiful.

Definitely post pictures when it arrives!

@Eweigele: & @MissTaken: The photos of you are beautiful!  Each time I see pictures of the Detalle on a bee, I fall even more in love with it!

@Eweigele: I love the shot of the back view, the tulle looks so whimsical.  My sash was also about $200. That seemed to be about the average from what I saw.

@MissTaken: Laughing  I spun and kept swaying like a little girl in the Detalle. and it was the only dress that I had that bridal feeling in as well.

I am also interested to hear what type of veil everyone plans to wear.  I bought a knee length lace edged veil but have some reservations about it being too much with the lace edge and the sash.  My second choice would be a plain chapel length veil.  Part of me thinks a plain long veil will not compete and will complement the dress.  Would love to hear your thoughts!

Also, what jewelry do you plan to wear?  I am at a loss on how to accessorize.  I should wait until my dress comes in (February-ish) but I can’t help looking around and wondering what would look best.  Plan to head over to the Nordstrom half-yearly sale and see deals I can find.

Hi Ladies,

I think my La Sposa Detalle needs a sash/belt around it, prefferably a pretty embellished one. Can anyone help on where I can get one, and not too expensive? They’re all so pricey!

Thanks!

It is so exciting seeing this dress on so many girls!  I am picking my dress up in a month or so, but I’m torn about the train/bustle…

Are you ladies leaving the train long? If so, how are you bustling it?

Are you shortening the train, and then bustling?

I am only 5’3″ and a pretty small person– I’m kind of concerned about the train overpowering me, and then the bustle overpowering me during the reception. Not to mention the bustle is HEAVY with all the material in it.

Despite this issue, I LOVE THE DRESS! I’m adding a plain satin sash to it. It really looks amazing on all of you! What a great style… Happy Briding!
