@jenewitt: The little flower is so beautiful and such a great idea.

I totally forgot to take a picture of myself in the dress – I may have to go try it on again while I wait for the dress to arrive haha.

I’m also thinking of having it altered into a sweetheart neckline. I googled the dress and saw a bride who had it made into a really dramatic sweetheart and it looked stunning!

@missL2B: I am a La Sposa Fanal bride too!  Here’s a pic after my first fitting.  I made the neckline a slight sweetheart and added a little bling with the belt.  I didn’t want to take it off!  This dress is so much fun and can be made into your own unique style without losing the original effect of the dress.  Everyone looks amazing!

@melmik

The dress looks so beautiful on you – and I love how the sweetheart neckline looks πŸ™‚

I think the dress is expected to arrive in February/March. I CANNOT wait to put it on again.

Thanks for sharing your pic with us!

PS. How do you address the post with the @ so that the name is green and underlined? (I’m still new to these boards!).

@missL2B:  What color did you order your dress in?  I think there are lots of cool belts out there so I’m sure you will be able to find one that you like.  Let us know when you find one!

I myself am new to posting on these boards.  I just click on the reply button and the cursor comes up next to the person’s username with an @ and it’s underlined.  Then just start typing.

@melmik: OH!!! I was replying using the text box at the bottom of the screen. Thanks!!

I ordered my dress in Ivory. I really wanted a white dress (I’m east Indian, so I thought a brighter white would like nice against my skin vs. ivory). But the white for the La Sposa was called “Optical white” which sounded too harsh to me – and the bridal salon didn’t have a sample unfortunately. My Mom and Mother-In-Law really loved the ivory anyway – they thought it made the dress look so luxurious. So I went with it.

What colour did you order? I’m curious about the Oyster colour that people keep referring to – is that a darker ivory?? Or the gold from the La Sposa site?

I think I’ll be getting my belt from etsy. There are so many beautiful designs. I just need to select one!!

I will definitley be posting when I try on my dress with the belt! I forgot to get a picture of the dress when I ordered it πŸ™

@missL2B: I ordered Ivory as well.  They didn’t have a sample of the Oyster and I thought the White was too harsh as well.  The Oyster color seems to be a hit with everyone though.  I can’t really tell how much darker it really is than the Ivory though.  I don’t think it’s really as gold as on the La Sposa site.  I’m sure the Ivory will look great on you though!  Can’t wait to see some pics!  And let us know what belt you decide on. Smile

I am SO GLAD that I came across this! I also have purchased this dress, and am absolutely in LOVE with it.  I also decided to get a sash to go along with it.  At first, I wasn’t sure about the contrast in color, but I think it’s growing on me.  My girls will all wear black.  Here it is the first time I tried the sample on in the boutique…. What do you think??

@Lia7808:  Looks great!  I actually really like the contrast of the sash.  I think it looks very elegant on you.  That’s the great thing about this dress…you can change it however you want to personalize it and it still holds the same beauty of the original dress style.  I had my second fitting last week and the dress keeps getting more and more fun to put on.  This pic is from a camera phone so it’s not the best quality πŸ˜‰

@melmik: So glad you like it! You’re right — it is SO versatile.  What a great dress!  Yours looks fabulous on you! I love it.  It’s interesting how different sashes can make it look like a completely different dress.  I’ll bet you’re getting excited — Just 3 more months. Wow! Good luck with everything πŸ™‚  Can’t wait to see the final product.

Does anyone have any pics of FANAL one a plus size bride? I am street size 14 with an hourglass figure and would love this dress in Oyster but hearing stories about the hips being too tight etc, would I have to order in a size 100? lol.  Also, wondering if it would be too showy of my flabby bits… any advise?

@cora123: I have to be honest with you — I am a street size 6 with a bit of a fuller hourglass figure… The size 10 fit me perfectly, but is VERY snug in the hip area.  It definitely flatters a fuller figure, but be sure you go a few sizes up.  I am a 36D and there is definitely plenty of room in the chest and arm/armpit area!  It’s a gorgeous dress, and I feel great in it – I’d say it would be worth a try to try it, and go a few sizes up.  Good Luck, and keep us posted πŸ™‚

@cora123: I’m a curvy size 14 and I tried on the Fanal yesterday.  It looked awesome – it is super figure flattering and if anything I think it is made to flatter those of us who are a bit curvier (though it looks great on less curvy brides as well).  It hid all my problem areas well.  It was tight on the hips, but I want a dress that is, so that wasn’t a problem for me.  I don’t know what size I tried on yesterday, but it was a sample in the store and it fit, so it probably wasn’t a size 100!  No pictures unfortunately – the store wouldn’t allow it.

@Lia7808 ,what color dress did you get?  It looks lovely.  I am in love with the Fanal but have it in my system that I want a white dress and haven’t really seen anyone with the optical white and have heard the optical white is too harsh.  So I am trying to get an idea of what the optical white looks like!  Other dresses I have tried on had a step between the ivory and the white white so I am a little torn.   Anyway, again, your look lovely! And it looks very white on you which I love, so again just curious about the color or if it is just the picture.

I love the different looks this dress can have with or without accessories.  So fun!
