Hoping to bring this thread back to life because I need some advice from some Fanal brides! ๐Ÿ™‚

I am going to add a belt to the dress…do I go with the beautiful, expensive one that Pronovias has or do I buy it from another store & have a seamstress put it on a ribbon for me for half the price? The other one is just as nice…but I can’t decide on which I love more because I haven’t seen the other one on the dress yet, so I’m not sure if it works!

So do I go with the easier (just order it through my consultant) expensive belt or more of a hassle (because I have to have it made) less expensive belt?!

These are the belts…the one on the dress obviously is the one from Pronovias. Advice anyone?! Thanks!

Ooo its hard to say, both are going to make the dress awesome!  I almost like the one that is less expensive but that will take more effort a little more, but I think both are good!  Where did you get the second one?  What is it made of? I can’t tell if it is beads or something else.  Very neat tho!

@KiwiBee:

I decided to go with my gut & ordered the belt through Pronovias. The 2nd one is from M&J Trimming in NYC. I am not sure what it is made of either. In the end it was too much of a hassle to make it…knew deep down it probably wouldn’t look right because I had a better feeling about the 1st one.

All of you brides look so beautiful! I have decided to have order this dress as well. I just love the timeless look of the Fanal ๐Ÿ™‚

At first, I thought I couldn’t afford this dress because I was quoted $1500. But after searching and searching I found a shop that can order it for $800, YAY!!!!!!

(The shop is in Glendale,Ca)

From looking at photos I thought for sure I would love the Oyster color, but with my coloring, it didn’t look right…there’s a blue undertone to it and my skin has a lot of yellow… so I went with the Ivory.

The tricky part is finding a great bridesmaids color to compliment it.

My Fanal came in last week! I was super excited. I took a few pictures, but the dress fit so funny. My hips were a size 10, but the rest of my body is pretty tiny so the top of the dress is HUGE (I will definitely have some cups sewn in!!).

My bridesmaids will be wearing yellow (like a marigold hue) and yellow is the main colour of our wedding. But, I wanted to have some colourful shoes. I don’t want yellow shoes, but I was thinking about blue. Do you think this would look weird? Maybe it doesn’t matter? What shoes are you ladies going with???

My fiance will be wearing black, with a black tie I believe. So the only yellow on him may be the boutinnere, but its possible I may give him white, and my bouquet will be white too…. undecided!

Also, for the belt situation I decided to order one from a seller on etsy. I have been in constant communication with her and she’s making it more custom to my likes. I can’t wait to see it all together!

@missL2B: Hello Everyone!

First time posting here and a little overwhelmed about choosing a dress.  I really like the fanal dress but I am wondering if there is any other place besides pronovias in NYC where I could buy it for less.  Does anyone know?

Also, I am looking at a demetrios dress at macy’s today (the Sensualle GR173) that I also like very much but I have to make a decision by sunday as the trunk show ends then.  If I wait till next trunk show, it is not till april and my wedding is sometime at the end of October.  April may be too late to order without having to pay extra.

If any of you can help.  I’d greatly appreciate it!!

@fanalfan:Hey, I went to Alura’s Bridal in Bayonne Nj (right over the rive rin Jersey)  They can order the Fanal for $800 – and I don’t think they will charge tax or alterations.  The owner is Sam (he’s a really sweet egyptian older guy who just wants you to be happy)  The shop is a little scarey to be honest with you, but they can get you the dress for such a great price it’s all good with me. Hope this helps =]

I’m a Fanal bride!  I don’t have any pictures of myself in the dress because my sister refuses to let me show anyone what I look like in it.  typical of her, really!  Anyhow, I bought the fanal for $500!!! I got really lucky and had won a $500 gift certificate at the boutique I went to.  I added a belt because I wanted the extra bling I went with a Saison Blanche belt.  That costs as much as my dress, I thought about doing something cheaper but honestly, it’s my friggin’ wedding!!! I also went with a cathedral veil.  Something that I thought I didn’t want but my mother really wanted it and it was just so classic together.

I’m all for classic looks.  My measurements are between a 10 and 12 for the dress so I went ahead and ordered a 12 but i am getting kind of worried since I have read so many people go up multile sizes.  Has anyone bought the dress as in their street size?  I’, 5’2″ and curvy, literally, curvy.  I have hips and booty a small waist and boobs, along with that I have broad shoulders.

Any insight would be helpful!  Thanks everyone.

This site helped me find my dress (la sposa Fanal). I found it in this site and i went in search of it and found it. I went to a local bridal shop that carried it, fell in love with it the minute I saw it.  I’m a street size four but my Fanal dress is an 8. It needed some alterations but they were minimal. I kept the train semi bustled, I don’t like long trains. The dress was so comfortable. I added an antique broach on the side of the dress.

I did a trash the dress session the next morning on the beach and the dress was fine, had it cleaned and looks as good as new.

Thanks to all the brides that posted picture of it and gave advise, it helped me so much. here are some pics, hope it helps any of you.
