I haven’t tried this one on, so I can’t help there. But is there any way you can go back to the store and try on the sample again? Maybe they will let you take a photo, since you’ve bought the dress? Seeing it again on you might bring back all those “I love this dress” feelings. Model photos are usually bad!

@LTM2012:  I LOVE this dress. I am really bummed out though because I just can’t justify the expense … I think it’s great that you were able to afford it. Anyway, I have a picture of me wearing the dress, though it probably won’t help you much, I’m pretty short [5’1″] and on the heavy side but I’d be happy to email it you if you’re interested.

@LTM2012:  Glad you were able to try it on again. That’s exactly what I thought as well, it’s comfortable and light as – it may be more of a summer wedding dress but I would so make it work for the fall/winter no matter what ;-). Our wedding is going to be in November – still trying to lock down the venue though. I love all the lace & beading at the bottom and I actually don’t mind the train. The other style I tried on was “Secreto” and although the bust is gorgeous, the tulle is just too much, veru bulky and does not go well with short people.

I’m not sure about the email part – I wonder if there is a way through private messages? Maybe I can post it and just cut my head off or something.

Ha, that would be something – most of the places I called require a 4 month shipping minimum so at this point, if I do decide to go ahead and make the expense I’d be getting it around July. I know the 10 fit well because I [for some reason] kept my jeans on and it was fine on the hips and the bust [36B]. The main alteration would be lenght.

Have you picked out shoes?

Hello!

I have just paid the deposit for this dress. I love it, I tried on about 25 dresses but loved this. I love the vintage feel but mostly I love that it is so comfortable.I am actually having loose sleeves made out of the same material as the bodice and over the shoulder then crossed at the back.

My wedding is not untl November so will not go back to the shop now for another 6 months or so to see it. I am not sure what veil to go with. A veil might be a bit too fussy or maybe a birdcage. Just dont know! Have you thought about it?

The dress shop would not allow me to take a photo but if you have one I would love to see it!

Hello @LTM2012!

Yes its brilliant to see someone else with the dress. I have scoured the web looking for photos of real brides in it but yet to find any! (which I like to think is a good thing as means we are unique :-)) Would love to see some photos and will defo send you some back before the wedding. How do you go about sending a private message or sharing email addresses

Funny as I am having exactly the same dilema re a viel. Do I go for something which would potentially steal from the dress or do I go for something shorter..what is a fingertip veil? I am considering a bird cage with a vintagey diamond headband which can have the bridcage removed after the ceremony as like you dont want to keep it on all night. The shop put a long veil on me but it just felt too much with the dress like you said.

Also.. I am also wearing flats or at the very most a kitten heel, I am the same height as my boyfriend (hey.. who I am kidding.. I am half an inch taller!!) so dont want to tower over him on the day.

How exciting, seeing the photo there of the bottom of your dress has reminded me how beautful it is, I took my bridesmaid in on Saturday and she said it was the most beautiful dress she has ever seen (and she cried!) I also love that you feel comfortable in it and can relax after eating a meal! One of my friends took her dress off after dinner as it was so tight!

Have you seen this website, it has great shots of the dress in high res so you can zoom in

Hello @LTM2012

I just wrote a long reply and lost it! arghh. How exciting, I love seeing the bottom of the dress like that, reminds me how beautiful it is. I took my bridesmaid to see it on Saturday and she thought it was the most beautiful dress she had ever seen (there were tears!). It’s so nice to find someone else who is wearing it, I have scoured the internet looking for photos of real brides but not been able to find any which I actually think is a good thing (we are totally unique!). Would be fantastic if you could send an image and I will absolutely do the same (they might even let me take one on Satuday as have paid the deposit and am going in to be measured)

I am having a veil dilema, I think shorter might be better (what is a fingertip veil). I am thinking a vintage diamond/stones headband with a birdcage veil attached which can be removed. Would love to see what you look like on the day with the shorter veil

I am in the same position re shoes! I want to wear flats as my boyfriend and I are the same height (hey who I am kidding I am a good half inch taller) but not found anything yet, the nature of the dress means you can not really see the shoes so dont think it matters.

When is your wedding? I am November and cant wait to walk up the aisle in the dress, its an amazing old church in the centre of Edinburgh with a huge long aisle and think the dress will really look lovely in the photos! (can you tell I am excited :-))

@LTM2012:  I sent you a PM. I ended up going with a different dress after all but I’m very happy with my decision 🙂

I’m months out ’til my wedding but I’ll be buying the veil and shoes pretty soon. I’m going with a simple tulle fingertip veil – no rhinestones or lace or anything. Maybe a very super thin border but that’s about it.

I’m a bit late to this thread, but I’m writing it for those brides who also bought the Sagitario and are experiencing buyer’s remorse. We had our wedding a month ago and I LOVED wearing my dress. When I put my deposit down, I also had some second thoughts and I scoured the internet looking for other brides who had the dress and how they felt about it. Alas, there were practically no posts about it so I had to content myself with staring at the model’s picture. What eventually brought me from liking the dress to loving it was when my actual dress arrived months later and I got to try it on in my size and length. I’m only 5’3″ and a size 8, so wearing the sample gown, even pinned back, could only show you so much of the potential of the Sagitario.

What I loved about the dress: the flowiness, the multiple layers (5! I counted them after the wedding), the softness of the materials and lightness and comfort level. On my wedding day, I wore this dress for 10 hours, walked up and down stairs, took pictures on the beach and grass, danced and hugged in it.

To make it my own, I had my tailor attach sleeves in the same material as the overlay so it actually has quite a different look from the catalogue’s. I also asked her to take in the waist a bit so it became more A-lined, rather than the original empire waist. I wore a simple fingertip length veil, a gorgeous statement necklace and matching earrings and Kate Spade heels.

If you decide to go with the Sagitario, make sure you get your tailor to sew in cups so you don’t have to worry about a strapless bra and don’t bother with foundation garments. I bought Spanx to wear with it, but the innermost layer of the dress kept getting caught against the Spanx and rode up, nixing the smoothing effect of the Spanx. The Sagitario’s empire waist shape should be enough to let you go without foundation garments.

So until you get your actual gown in, go back to the store and ask to try on the dress again and take pictures in it. That way you can look at them when you’re feeling doubtful and also when figuring out your veil and hair options. Good luck and hope this helped!

@LTM2012:  hi there! I just sent you a private message with my email. Would you mind sending me your picture? I am getting crazy stressed out trying to decide. The bridal shop is starting to get pushy with me, and I am having trouble getting anywhere with my work schedule. Thanks in advance if you do!….tip for the group: if you search the name of your dress followed with “photography blog” it helps find pics of real ppl in the dress.

Happy hunting!
