So, I had my first fitting today, and am more in love than ever with my dress (see other post) – but not with my seamstress. I met her when I tried on the dress for the second time before buying it, and took an instant dislike to her. Now, I do believe she is very skilled at what she does, this is merely a personality issue. Today at my first firtting I started putting on the dress, and asked her what size they had ended up ordering (was between 2 sizes). She said ‘you don’t need to worry about that’ and ripped the paper label off from my dress, taking it to another room! I am really upset about this now, as I wanted to
a) see the label
b) keep the label and put it in my scrapbook.
I said this to her and she said ‘maybe later – if you’re good’. Now the shop was full of people so I didn’t make a fuss and with the wonder of trying on my dress totally forgot about it. Now I am home I remembered, and immediately e-mailed the store saying I want my label. I feel very silly. It’s just a paper tag, but I paid a LOT of money for my dress and feel i should have every bit of it including the paper label. I also really never want to see that seamstress again but that’s a separate issue I guess. She is bossy and annoying and very rude. I am getting more upset the longer I think about it – esepcially as tomorrow they might just tell me that they threw it in the bin, and it’s gone. Not sure what to do. Any adivce from the hive?
