I’m doing black envelopes with a white wrap-around label. I’ll still address them by hand though, just writing on the label instead.

I was going to suggest a wrap around label as well.

Another alternative you might consider a white, metallic gold or silver pen directly on the envelope.

I have dark teal envelopes and I am going to use a silver or metallic pen as well. I’m stamping our return address on the back. My envelopes are not metallic so it should be easier.

I may play around with my Silhouette SD, You can replace the blade with pens and “draw” on paper

the “clear” labels definitely aren’t clear. i tried to use them for the return address on my navy metallic save the date envelopes, and they were awful. i got a stamp with silver ink for our return address, then wrote the addresses in cursive with a silver pen. for the invitations, i’m using wrap around labels.

just a note: if you decide to go the stamp route on metallic envelopes, you’ll need to spray fixative on them so the ink doesn’t run.

This post is funny because those are my exact envelopes too. I ordered them because I fell in love with the color and didn’t think through how I was going to get addresses on them. I ordered the same envelopes for thank you cards and save the dates. For the thanks you’s and save the dates, I ended up ordering a kraft brown labels to match my paper- not ideal but I just don’t have time to handwrite everything. I’m happy with that! You could also order the metallic labels which would be pretty. It will NOT work to print on clear labels- trust me! I tried doing this myself in a desperate attempt. As for the actual invitations, I will make time to handwrite in a white gel pen. I found the gelly rolls work the best. Another plus to the gelly rolls is that they are archival and waterproof which you want (so it doesn’t smear in the mail). Not many other pens will work because the paper is so shiny. Trust me on this too- I’ve tried everything haha.

@tahinman: Hi! Which brown kraft labels did you use? I’m having trouble finding some. I have dark brown envelopes with kraft cardstock for my save the dates. Thanks!
