If you don’t want to read my novel/post, just read this paragraph and check out the pictures, you’ll get the gist 🙂 Does anyone else have the same or similar dress to the two I’ve included below? If so, can you provide pictures? What do you ladies think of two-tone dresses and mixed fabrics? Is the one-shoulder too trendy? I really like it on so many other brides, just a bit worried about it being too trendy. Thanks in advance for your opinions!
Hi there, I’m a newbee 🙂 Went dress shopping for the first time today and the dress I liked the most was one that my Maid/Matron of Honor picked out, and I had not even considered. I’ve been looking online for months now, but trying some on changed everything! Throw the styles I had orginially liked out the window.
The surprise dress is a Simone Cavalli style 7149. I like that it has lace and satin, ivory (satin) and white (lace), and that it’s a little more form fitting. I’m short (5’3″) but, I’m not a small bride. This was a size 12 and fit me like a glove. Here are pictures of it on the model (all white) and on me (headless & from weird angle, had to take pictures in dressing room from standing on bench).
As soon as I got home I started searching for a dress with features that I liked in this one and was hoping to find something a bit cheaper (although this one is discontinued and I can get for 30% off, it’s still several hundred bucks above what I wanted to spend). I found and LOVE Allure Bridal 8674….it has lace & satin, can be two tone (white & ivory in pics), looks like it’s fit & flare and doesn’t look like it’ll be too heavy or too much dress (or crinelin) for my July wedding (in North Carolina). I love it with the beaded sash in the close up shot.
Any thoughts? I like the originality of the first one, but am worried it’s a bit too trendy, plus the price…I love the second one but haven’t tried it on yet and I’m not sure if I can find it locally. I did see one picture that another bee posted of her trying on the second one, but it was a 12 and she was an 8….couldn’t tell what it would look like on an actual size 12, but it was still helpful and looked good on her.
