I recently purcahsed the Maggie Sottero Karena Royale in ivory on ivory. It fits well enough to be worn..but I would really like it hemmed and possibly taken in on the hips. Any idea how much that might cost? I originally bought another dress because the lady said the alterations on the lace would cost a fortune..but I had to have it. Now I’m terrified to see the bill for alterations! I’m in Jacksonville FL in case anyone has any recommendations. 🙂

@April11bride: I have a lace dress as well. I couldnt resist! I think wedding dress alterations, lace or not, are expensive regardless… sounds like you don’t have to have that much work done on it though, you might be pleasantly surprised. It’s definitely worth it to get the alterations done because you want it to be absolutely perfect on your big day.

Hey April11bride! We are getting married the same day and I have a lace dress too! Not sure if this will help, but I have the San Patrick Estambul and was told no more than $200 to do alterations – I need it taken up a good bit and let out under the arms to give my bust more room. Hopefully, $200 is the case…I can live with that but not much more!
Hope that helps! SIX months from Saturday!!! 🙂

my understanding for the San Francisco prices is that the hemming on the bottom costs $100 (and up), sides are $100 and up too

It should cost a little over $200. I recently altered a lace dress with beading and that was the total I charged the bride.

On that exact dress with taking in the hips and the bottom my bff was charged $425
