(Closed) Lace Dress, Black Sash

I’m personally not doing it, but I think it would look classic and pretty. Is your dress ivory? My personal opinion, is that white and black are a little harsh together, but it looks great with black. Is black one of your colors?

 ETA: if you google it a lot of pictures come up of lace dresses with black sashes. Sorry I don’t have a picture for you.

I originally had a black sash. When I showed my mom the first thing she said was that her eyes immediately went to the sash and not the overall look. I ended up switching for an ivory. I think for some dresses it works but on others it overwhelms. Get the immediate reactions from those around you when they see you in it.

Oh wait, I tried on a dress with a black sash. It was a natural white (somewhere between ivory and white) with a black sash. Its not all lace, but the top was. I liked it with it, but I can also agree with what arielle said where it could draw attention to that one spot and would depend on the dress if it looks good with it or not.

This isn’t the sash that I’m going to wear, but I will be wearing a black sash with a lace dress.
