I know you don’t want to buy without trying it on but what about etsy.com.  Have someone make the one similar to your dream one.  THere has been a lot of people that used etsy and loved it.  IF I was able to get a wedding dress for our wedding, that is where I was going to get it.  There was a seller(ecofashionbags) thta was going to make me an exact replica of maggie sottero "brielle" for $300. This person teaches sewing and design at a school in canada.  Seemed really knowledgeable.  Just a suggestion:)

I love lace and am very partial to Pronovias and their sister companies La Sposa and San Patrick.  My dress is Pronovias and it was within your budget.

My dress was lace covered, from David’s Bridal and only $1100. Sadly, it’s discontinued, but David’s Bridal does have a few beatiful lacy dresses.

I love this one, and it actually was my second choice: http://www.davidsbridal.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplayView?storeId=10052&catalogId=10051&catentryId=6097085

I wore a Casablanca dress that cost less than $1000. They had it custom made to fit my body and it looked great on the day of the wedding. I got MANY compliments on the dress.

DB has some all lace dresses too – way under 3k.

Don’t do David’s bridal because although their dresses are cheap, they get you on the alterations which end up costing the same amount as the dress making you pay twice as much as you think you would have for a wedding dress.  That’s what happened to a co-worker of mine.  I like Casablanca because it’s great for petite Asian brides.  It made me look taller.  Plus because all the work is done in China, they have someone who self-embroiders every piece of lace instead of some dresses where they just glue the embroidery on.

David’ Bridal has one right now that reminds me of a Monique Lhuillier.

The back is absolutely gorgeous! If you don’t like the blingy belt you can remove it pretty easily. Their alterations can get pretty pricey so look for another option since you don’t have to have them done there.

I got mine from Mori Lee, its all lace – and really nice alencon – looks expensive and I paid just under $1000 for it. I can,t wait until next August to wear it 😀

How about this Coren Moore lace dress for ~ $2000? I tried it on this morning (my first time trying on dresses!) and am in love. Sadly, it is too much for me. But SOMEONE should have it!

My sister wore a lace Amsale, and since she bought the sample, she got it for 60% off!  Is that an option you could look into?
