@PatientBride:  I am also a Sophia Tolli bride that is petite (5’0″) and her dresses are very similar to Maggie Sottero dresses (she used to design for that line) with lots of lace, beading, and satin. As an FYI both designers make a “short” version of their dresses. I found that the mermaid complemented my short frame very well compared to the fit and flare and full lace dresses made me look too short and wide for some reason. Instead, I found that a mermaid satin and beaded Sophia Tolli gown with lace capsleeves/keyhole back complemented me the best and was a perfect ratio of all three details.

It may be worth stepping out of the box and negating one of the three (either the lace, beading or fit and flare) and see how the dress looks on you…

I have Casablanca 2072 and when it fits correctly I believe it technically is a fit-and-flare. Look:

@PatientBride:  Allure 2569 was my dress!  I’m absolutely biased and loved it!  But you’re right its not much of a fit and flare, more a-line.

@PatientBride:  If you want it more dramatic I’m sure that they could do that. If Im not mistaken there is a bride on here who took an A-Line dress and had it altered to a dramatic Fit-and-Flare. Those seamstresses can work wonders!
Good luck!

@PatientBride:  I’m on the tall side (5’7″) and will not be wearing heels so they played around with a few different lengths on me. I would totally probe the next shop for some answers.

Good luck!

@PatientBride:  OH! I also had the back of mine changed to a corsett, so that will help with the fit as well. Casablanca is one of the most customizable dress makers out there. They can do anything!
