Hi, I’m new to joining wedding bee, but I’ve read many posts in the past and found them helpful! I am trying to make my wedding as vintage as possible (the whole lace and pearls look). My dress is lace from head to toe, and I plan on wearing fingerless lace gloves. My bridesmaids dresses are going to be dark, eggplant purple (strapless). I will have each girl wear a pearl necklace. I was wondering everyone’s opinion on pairing cream colored lace gloves with their dresses?? Keep in mind the accent color of the wedding is dark red. Their lips will be dark red, and their bouquets with be dark red roses with dark purple calla lilies. I’m afraid the cream will be too much of a contrast….but then again, maybe not. Opinions?

@kelsi: I think your instincts are right…the cream gloves might be too much of a contrast. How about having them wear pearl bracelets to match their necklaces? Or, if it’s the lace you are going for, you could wrap their bouquets with cream lace, and maybe incorporate some cream pearls into the bouquet:

I would say the gloves are a don’t.

I agree the lace gloves might be a little too much, or maybe too distracting to look at becuase of the contrast. If you really wanted to add lace for them somehow what about having the bouquet wraps be lace?

I think 99% of the bees here are too young to even know what retro look you are going for. I think the gloves would be cute.
