@cranraspberry:  Maybe “younger” isn’t the right word. The dress isn’t young looking, but you look young and glowy in it! The lace is more matronly to me. It’s pretty, but it doesn’t show off your fab figure like the taffeta.

I like the lace one except for the upper part that covers your collar bone and shoulders, you have great bone structure there and think you should show it off.  I also think it will give you a more fresh and younger look.

Another taffeta voter here!  I feel like the lace dress is lovely, but just a little overwhelming on you.  However, you OWN that taffeta one – you look elegant and classy and it just suits your delicate frame & features.

I like the shape of dress 2 on you much better, but I love the lace. I would personally look for a dress shaped like dress 2 but with lace.

The lace trumpet is absolutely stunning on you! While they both look nice, the lace one is the only one that made me think “wow”

Oh my goodness!  I LOVE the lace gown!  You look gorgeous!  It’s an incredibly timeless dress!

I want to like, combine both dresses, because there are beautiful elements on each. I love the neckline of the taffeta, but I think the lace is the better fabric on you. I think the wide sash of the lace cuts you off, and I’m not crazy about the cap sleeve (you have great shoulders!). But the ruching on the taffeta feels heavy to me somehow.

I would love to see you in something like this.

I say go with the taffeta since you sounded happy when one of us went for ‘team taffeta’!!  I love it!!

I love the strapless lace trumpet!  I think if you added a belt or some kind of embelishment to show off your waist it would be perfect.

The taffeta does show off your figure but I still like the lace better.

For what it’s worth, I had a similar struggle.  I tried on dress after dress and just felt blah about all of them so I finally decided the SYTTD moment wasn’t going to happen for me and bought an ivory strapless cocktail dress and tried to convince myself that it looked good in pics.  A couple of weeks before the wedding I had a dress meltdown and bought a used strapless lace trumpet dress that just screamed “I’m the ONE!”  I’m so glad I kept looking until I found the right one because I was so excited to put my dress on and didn’t ever want to take it off.

I love the tafetta dress I think it shows off your figure better and gives you more curves, in a good way :), I think it is the shape of the sweetheart neckline and wear the ruching comes down diagonially that does it, I found this style worked in that way for me anyway, the shape of the lace is also nice but I think that a strapless neckline would look much better on you as you have a lovely shape to your shoulders and collar bone ๐Ÿ™‚
