Oh lord, I hate to be the spoil sport… I do think it’s a bit much. Is there a modesty panel? I can’t tell from the pic. Are you wearing any kind of control undergarment? Do you have any pics of it laced properly? I’m sure that does make a difference, too.

I personally feel like that is too much gap. It looks like you bought a dress that didn’t fit and so had to lace it like that to accommodate. However, it’s not terrible, and I wouldn’t fret if you don’t lose more weight.

Could you share a clearer picture with us? This one is a bit difficult to see. I’m afraid the gap may be a bit wide at this point but if it came together a few inches it would look significantly better!

I love gaps so you can see the lace up detail personally. I have asked my dress maker to make my dress look a little like this in the back.

I like to be able to see the detail from the corset back, but I do think that is too wide.

Don’t you dare starve yourself! I think you are rocking that dress.

Can we see a better picture? Toastymama‘s picture shows a gap even larger than yours and it looks great. I think when it’s properly laced up and we see it a bit closer, it will look perfect too!

I think the issue isn’t how wide it is but that it is not tapered at all towards the waist. I think even if the top is that wide, if there is a way to make it more pointed toward the waist than the square-er shape it is now it will look better.
