Just wondering what your experience was with a lace up back. I’m hoping to find one just in case I don’t lose all the weight that I’d like. Goal size is a 2 and I want to buy a size 2 dress BUT I am scared to do that–what if I lose weight but not enough?
Are lace-ups more forgiving? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Yes, because you can add room if needed depending on how tight you tie it.

I would not buy a size two dress if that’s your street size – wedding dresses typically run smaller. I’m a 00-0 street size and ordered a size 4 dress. My measurements were between a size 2 and 4. I’d consult with the bridal shop you are ordering and look closely at the manufacturer’s measurements.
Generally corset backs give you more space since you can tie it tighter or loser depending on what you need.

My street size is a 0 (usually) but I really really really need the motivation to lose it. I’ll try on some 2s and see how much I’d really need to lose in order to get there and if it feels unrealistically difficult I’ll go with the 4.

Corset backs are more forgiving both ways. I’m a wedding dress size 6 and when i tried on the sample (size 10 or 12) it felt like it fit. Order the size you currently are and if you lose the weight, you can always tie it tighter.
