I don’t even have my dress yet (any week now!) but I’m trying to figure out what veil would look good. I really love the idea of a handmade antique lace veil but I’m wondering if it would be too much or take away from my dress.
Below is my dress. It is lace with really beautiful beadwork.
Should I get a lace veil like the one pictured or a simple veil like the one I tried on with my dress?

@ke_murphy: I think that would look great! But then again, I’m biased lol because I’m wearing a full lace gown and my veil is a cathedral length drop veil edged completely in lace.
I think either way you’re going to look gorgeous!

Too much lace on that veil and I think it will take away from the dress. Personally – if you’ve got lace and/or beads on a dress I think the veil needs to be clean and simple otherwise it’s just too much.
I also am not a fan of the fingertip length – it kind of messes with your sleek look and it makes the bride appear shorter and/or wider. I would go for a cathedral veil. No beading or anything.

I would look at a cathedral length veil that’s a little simpler than the long one pictured.

Here is a picture of me in the dress with a cathedral lenght veil, which for some reason I didn’t like as well. And another picture of the lace veil.
I’ll add catherdral length to the poll if I can figure out how to do it!

I prefer the 2nd one, I think the first one is a bit plain for my taste. It does look good, do not worry about that ; but since it’s about what we prefer and think will look the best, in my opinion, if it was me, I’d go with the 2nd one. I don’t think it distracts from the dress.

@ke_murphy: That lace veil is AMAZING! And it’s not super over-the-top lacy so I think it could work with your dress.

Thank you all for your help so far… the poll is split 50/50!!! I absolutly love the lace veil… I fell in love with handmade lace after seeing it made in Italy. I just don’t want it to compete with the dress.
Keep the opinions coming… I’m a very indecisive person!!

I think the lace is too much for that dress. Both are stunning but don’t seem to fit well together. My dress was also very beaded and my veil had beadwork along the edge which I loved so maybe something like this
