White lace does not look like table cloth. It all depends on what looks best with your skin tone.

I compared white and ivory lace dresses and I realized that the ivory dress looked far more elegant and rich looking compared to the white.  Also, the detail in the dress is easier to see in Ivory than with white.

But I agree with the previous post that you need to take into account what looks best with your skin tone.  I have a darker complexion so invory looks so much better.

@kiran08: i completely agree with kiran08 that ivory shows detail in the dress better.  it looks like there is more depth to the fabric.  especially in pictures.  but it really does depend on your skin tones which color is better.  but i don’t think an ivory dress would look right with a white belt.  i think the white contrast on the ivory might make the ivory look “dirty” by comparison. i tried on and really liked the dakota as well.  : )

It really depends on your skin tone and your dress.

For example, I am very pale and the under layer of my dress was silk. The bridal boutique told me that ivory silk would look more yellow and make the dress look bad on me. I went for the white color of my Watters dress.

Each designer has different color options so you will have to make the decision once you decide on a specific dress. I would also ask for help from the bridal store that you buy from.
