I picked out my ring, hated it before I left the store, had it reset and still hated it, rarely wore it until Darling Husband selected a setting HE liked and had it reset about a year ago.

Now I love my ring and wear it proudly.

Who knew???

I wanted an uncommon style vintage ring and I knew it could take months to find it. He suggested I browsed antique stores to try on a few styles (and take some of the leg-work out of it!) and once I found the one I wanted he swooped in and paid for it. He loves my ring but would never presume to pick it out for me. We are open with each other about everything else so saw no reason for this to be any different.

He picked the ring himself and it was a total surprise. He loves it which makes me love it more 🙂

BrideAddict92:  you know… i had a feeling that my fiance was starting to ring shop…so i sent him an email, with strict instructions not to reply haha… and basically, i included a picture of a double halo, split shank ring… and just said this is the kind of style I personally like,  but i know that i will love anything he pics out! i also said that it wasn’t meant to pressure him, but to serve as guidance when he was ready and needed it… etc. (however, my guy was ready to propose after like 6 months, i think he waited so that people wouldn’t say he was crazy haha so i don’t think he felt any pressure anyway…) that was how i solved my issue of wanting to point my guy in the right direction AND wanting it to be a surprise that he picked out too.

i knew he had his mom’s diamond that he was going to reset. I also know that my guy needs direction when it comes to jewelery and all that… in the end, the engagement was a surprise and the ring was too because after that email we never really had a conversation about it. he hinted that he was looking but we never really went into detail. the engagement came a few months after the email, and don’t you know it!!, he was really thankful for the direction since he said he would have never been able to figure it out. there are so many options and he was totally overwhelmed.

anyway, here is what i ended up with! & i love it, i love that it’s not exactly what i showed him, but his own take on what i sent… (stats: 1.5 center, .5 setting, VS1, G or H in color, 7.5 finger size…)

I picked out my e-ring! Originally, Fiance was going to purchase one without me knowing what it was; I gave him info about what type of ring I wanted and picture examples of rings I liked, but I think he got overwhelmed by the choices available. He told me his budget and asked me to pick out what I liked since I was the one who was going to wear the ring for the rest of my life

BrideAddict92:  he suggested we go “ring browsing” together which was a lot of fun. Neither one of us knew anything about diamonds prior. So it was really cool to get an education together on the 4c’s. Plus I got to try on various shapes and sizes to see what I liked. Originally I thought I wanted a cushion cut with a halo, but my Fiance favored the classic round brilliant. And his idea won me over and I couldn’t have been happier! I think he knocked it out of the park because the cut color and clarity were all up to him. Essentially he got the best he could within his budget. All I asked was I had a really thin and delicate band. So while we did go browsing together, the final ring result was a complete surprise!

BrideAddict92:  I knew Destination Wedding had her grandmother’s diamond to reset and we went and chose the solitaire setting together at a local jeweler who custimized it with the heart prongs and details I wanted. 🙂 Definitely my idea, though. Destination Wedding prefers halos!

Basically I sent him photos of ones I liked, and then we decided together which one was best. We’re both very indecisive people so I’m glad we did it this way. No pics yet because we just ordered it a few nights ago and I’m technically not engaged yet lol
