In our apartment.. I had just gotten out of the shower and was sopping wet. He said he didn’t anticipate me being in the shower when he came home from work and had planned to propose so he couldn’t wait! There was also a cheesy cookie cake involved 🙂

My husband didn’t propose in a romatic way. I’m a little bummed about that. But happily married!

On the couch at about one o’clock in the morning, after a night out with friends
. he was planning on asking the next day, but couldn’t wait. We were talking about the future, etc. Then he says “well, will you marry me?” I said “of course” then he said, “ok, I just have to get something” ran into the bedroom and came back with a ring. After he asked a bit more formally on one knee, we put a bottle of bollinger in the freezer and stayed up til 4am drinking it and celebrating together. Was perfect.

On a beach at a lake in his childhood hometown- we would go there a few times every winter with dunkaccinos and bundled up. Always so peaceful and quiet. We talk there for hours!

I was sitting in the bathroom of our apartment painting my nails as I always do when I’m upset lol. It was the day after V-Day and my Fiance was just getting home from a navy sail. We’d barely spoken the day before and when we did there was nothing romantic about it, meanwhile everyone around me was getting showered with love so I was bummed out. Little did I know he’d been planning a romantic proposal when he got home which I totally ruined by quarantining myself in the bathroom. He came in and proposed anyway 🙂 …wish I could remember what he said (other than “this is not how I wanted to do this”) but I was in too much shock!

We took a walk at this beautiful state park around 4pm. The sun was setting behind the trees over the river and suddenly I saw a big flash and he was down on one knee! I knew the proposal was coming but I didn’t expect it then!

My Fiance set up a day-long scavenger hunt for me in DC, Arlington VA, and Alexandria VA (where we live). He had friends of ours at each stop with another clue to get me to the next place (and a beer at lots of the stops too haha!). Best part was that he brought my best friend (MOH) down from NYC to wake me up that morning and get me started, and she spent the whole day with me – I hadn’t seen her in a couple months and it was wonderful getting to spend that time with her!
After he proposed at one of our favorite restaurants, everyone who had participated and helped along the way was there to celebrate with us after. It was awesome, absolutely NOT what I thought I wanted, but it was amazing.
Oh and he had our photographer friend follow me around all day snapping pics – I never knew she was there.

My Fiance proposed in the park at a rented cabin
After he proposed, we had a little “photo shoot” taken by our friend and then we had an engagement party/dinner!

My Darling Husband proposed to me at Callaway Gardens (in GA), while on a train ride looking at christmas lights.. He had it planned for the train to stop; and let us get out to “take a picture” in the lights, well while i posed for a snapshot, he was getting down on his knee… in front of EVERYONE.
I have to say i was VERY surprised. And it was my 2nd most happiest day (the first would be the day i married him) 🙂
