So, a few months ago, Fiance bought me my Engagement Ring. Well, it BROKE! Queue tears streaming and lots of fighting about how I really want one and he doesn’t see the need for one and BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. Now, guess who is getting her ring?! ME!
I really wanted something like images one and two
But most of these antique pieces are WAYYYY out of my budget so I turned to Etsy! Please feast your eyes upon image three!
Pretty similar right? A bezel set stone (no fear of breaking a prong!) with a halo of stones!! I just want a sapphire of this color and brilliance of the last image!

Also, sorry for the large images, I’m having some serious issues today 🙁

That Beverly Hills Antiques one is my absolute DREAM ring! I even have it saved to my computer!!! Sooooo gorgeous!

I love the ring! I had my eye on a similar one for awhile at a local jeweler because I knew I wanted both diamonds and sapphires on my e-ring and for it to be more of a vintage/antique style. The ring was an estate piece and I hear you on how expensive they can be!

Haha, trailmix! I have an entire folder full of “ring inspiration”.
I think I’m going to take this picture down to a local antiques jeweler and see if she can find one for me but if now I’m going to Etsy to get one made!

OMG. I totally love this setting. My ering has sapphires on. My mum actually wears her mother’s art deco engagement ring which is like the Beverly Hills Antiques one. If she didn’t already have it, this is the design I would have chosen for mine!
Who from Etsy is making your ring for you?

@JoeyEmma EidelPrecious is the jeweler that I think I will go to if I can’t find a vintage piece. She has some really great stuff st reasonable prices!

Oh it’s so pretty! And i love that shade of blue. It’s not too dark, not too light, but it’s very vibrant!

Yes, @rabbit I love, love sapphires! I really wanted a Kashmire Sapphire solitaire but they are PRICEY!!
@bluebutterfly, you’re lucky! My birthstone is citrine and it is SO HARD to find a nice ring with that stone in it. They all look kind of cheap. :/

Just a thought, however have you thought of getting a setting like this one
And getting a sapphire seperately? Some of the Etsy sellers actually get their settings from this vendor (not saying that this one is using them though!). Here is a picture of that setting that somebody has put a sapphire into
You could then get a stone separately. It might be better to get a heat treated sapphire, as they are cheaper than natural ones, and are a good idea if on a budget. The folks over on Pricescope’s coloured stone forums could be really useful for you http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/forum.asp?forumID=11
As an example, all of these sapphires would fit in the above setting

@JoeyEmma look at all the sparkles!!! Fiance is probably going to be hesitant because that’s what we tried last time and maybe it was just bad luck but things didn’t work out to well so now we have a 6mm sapphire that we’re going to set into a necklace and a 14k gold setting (broken shank) with 2 diamonds that I think we’re going to sell at that local jeweler.
Sometimes I get kind of jealous of the girls who get their ring and everything is PERFECT…but I know that it will all work out in the end. 🙂
