What do you do for a living?: I work for the government.

Wedding date: 6-22-14

What was your favorite toy growing up?: Barbies but I also was a nerdy child that loved to read!

What is the one confort food that you still eat that reminds you of your childhood?
Rice soup with lemon.

Where you from?: Ohio, then briefly moved to New York state, then back to Ohio. I live about an hour from where I grew up.

How old are you? (only if you want to share):  30, but people either think I look a lot younger or older

What do you do for a living?: I work a lot of jobs that individually don’t take up a ton of time. I write, do freelance education (typically workshops), and volunteer for a local crisis center (I work on the hotline and do face to face advocacy). I used to teach full time.

Wedding date: May 15, 2013 (a week from today!)

What was your favorite toy growing up?: The penguin Care Bare or this paper doll set (the “doll” was plastic, and then you did the clothes yourself – you wrapped tissue paper around, etc)

What is the one confort food that you still eat that reminds you of your childhood? Chocolate chip pancakes.

What is the one confort food that you still eat that reminds you of your childhood? palachinka – an ethnic food from my Croatian background that is like a crepe. YUM!

What do you do for a living?: Higher Education Administration

What was your favorite toy growing up?: Books, Speak and Spell, Dolls, it varied…

How old are you? (only if you want to share): I’m actually 29, but will be turning 30 in October!

What do you do for a living?: I’m a Spanish/English teacher.

Wedding date: None yet =) Still deciding.

What was your favorite toy growing up?: Sadly, a cardboard box nailed into the ground on a hill. Man I loved sliding down that makeshift slide!

What is the one confort food that you still eat that reminds you of  your childhood?
Hot dogs! We went camping all the time and my parents even have a fire ring in their backyard for impromptu weenie roasts!

What was your favorite toy growing up?:  My cabbage patch premie….her name was Patty Claire. I still have her and her birth certificate! She was given to me as a gift on my first birthday. 

 

What is the one confort food that you still eat that reminds you of  your childhood?  Cherry tomatoes! We used to sit in my papaw’s garden and eat them straight off the vine (that got our bottoms smacked on MORE than one occassion)

How old are you? (only if you want to share): 34, but turning 35 in August.

What do you do for a living?: Associate editor for a business-to-business tech publishing company.

Wedding date: October 5, 2013.

What was your favorite toy growing up?: Pretty much every early-’80s toy that was huge at the time — Strawberry Shortcake, Cabbage Patch Kids, Care Bears, Smurfs, Barbies, and Jem and the Holograms. Name it — I likely had it. I also had a tomboy side that loved Matchbox cars and BMX bikes!

What is the one comfort food that you still eat that reminds you of your childhood? Thanksgiving turkey dinners.

How old are you? (only if you want to share):  I turned 34 on May 1st

What do you do for a living?: I own my own company that contracts to provide customer service reps for companies like AT&T, Sprint, Disney, etc.

Wedding date: 10/12/2013 (but subject to change)

What was your favorite toy growing up?: Barbie

What is the one confort food that you still eat that reminds you of your childhood? Several as a matter of fact. My family is large and we have lots of traditions. every year we have a huge BBQ and all the family comes to my uncles house, it lasts all weekend. We also, always got together on Christmas Eve, so we could spend time together and not be rushed on Christmas day. We had odd finger foods, always the same every year, I love when I can have these. Unfortunately, I do not usually get these foods except these special occasions. I love it!

How old are you? (only if you want to share):  Newly 30, and don’t plan on getting any older!

What do you do for a living?: I work in a print shop for a mid-sized marketing firm. 

Wedding date: HOPEFULLY October 2014, but we still have a LOT to work out, including buying a home!

What was your favorite toy growing up?: Barbie.  It’s a coincidence my fiance looks like Ken ๐Ÿ˜‰

What is the one confort food that you still eat that reminds you of your childhood? My mom’s homemade chicken soup with tiny pasta in it.  I still eat it on the regular!

Hi Bees!  I have really enjoyed reading everyone’s posts for quite a long time, and decided it’s time to start posting myself.  My husband and I eloped 4 years ago, and he has “popped the question” again, for a vow renewal (with a ceremony this time!) I am sooooo excited, I feel like I’m newly engaged, lol.  So nice to meet everyone! Here’s my little intro post:

How old are you? (only if you want to share):  Turned 31 on Saturday!

What do you do for a living?: Stay-At-Home Mom to 1, and have a small side ‘business’ of designing DIY printable stationery.

Wedding date: Was August 31, 3012–quickly approaching our first anniversary!

What was your favorite toy growing up?: A male Cabbage Patch Kid I named ‘Mikey’. He went everywhere with me!

What is the one comfort food that you still eat that reminds you of your childhood?  Very rarely do I eat it (like, once in the past 6 years), but creamed corn. My Mum used to serve it over mashed potatoes with roasted chicken, and I loved it!

What do you do for a living?: I’m a librarian at a public library. I also handle volunteers. event promotion, and PR for the library.

Wedding date: October 2, 2013 – 41 more days!!!

What was your favorite toy growing up?: I was a reader–I loved the Babysitter’s Club books so much. I identified most with mary Ann, but I wanted to be more like Claudia.

What is the one confort food that you still eat that reminds you of your childhood? For me it’s Kraft mac and cheese. It’s such a guilty pleasure, but when I’m really sick, I always want a bowl.
