subernova11:  thanks! David klass made this setting for me, his prices are amazing as well as his work of course! His email address is [email protected] if your interested in getting a quote from him. My setting only cost $1250!  Also Adiamor.com has some really nice halo settings.

MsElle:  Congrats!! Your ring is perfect, and I am partial to the plain band myself. 🙂  It really shows off the diamond.

I love halos!! Mine is a 0.5ct anc my finger size is 5.25. However, I’m upgrading to a 1ct radiant cut Amora Gem (5x7mm) with halo. I originally had a coloured stone (sapphire) in this ring and thought it looked tiny but I don’t think the colourless stone looks tiny. It’s just an optical illusion thing. If I didn’t love radiants so much, I’d probably keep this ring.

Here it is… 1.01 on a 5.75 Finger

The thing is, the size of the center stone doesn’t always matter if the halo (bloom) or the setting is larger, or if the quality of the diamond is superior…. which all give the illusion of a bigger ring, diamond or more finger coverage.

Also, some rings look bigger or smaller even if it’s the same ring size depending on the rest of your finger’s size, the length or width of your hand… sometimes even the intangibles like personality (IMHO).

size 4.5ish finger (currently sized at 5 but really big but I don’t want to part with them again to have them resized)

Center is 1.87ct
