Expectations! I come from a long line of big, beautiful, break the bank weddings. I feel the pressure to “top” all of them, but I’m not financially in the place where they were.
Oh! and being the moderator between our two families. Why is it my job to keep the peace? I’m doing enough already
Ugh. I feel like I am the only bride in the world who is NOT enjoying wedding planning.
My dislikes:
-worrying about money
-FI’s parents making our guest list EXPLODE
-not really having an exact vision of what I want for the day so things are literally all over the place
-the fact that people have issues with how we are planning to do things and when we ask what the problem is we get indifference! (ugh!)
-the serious amounts of stress: it’s causing me to break out (I never had this problem before!), stomach issues, headaches, and a serious bout of IJDGAF (I just don’t give a f*%^#)
I hated all the appointments that had to be made. fortunately, I was going through a very slow time at work during those last few months.
My Fiance and I currently live five hours apart. We will not be living in the same city until the start of June–so, approximately three weeks before the wedding. It has been so hard to plan everything with him far away. When we are in the same city, our time has revolved around wedding planning. I’m just ready to be in the same city with him.
Guest List. Only kids at the wedding will be the two flower girls (my neices) and the ring bearer (FIs cousions kid) My neicese arn’t even staying for the reception. Its gonna upset a few people mainly on his side that no kids will be coming and Im worried about it.
Seating Chart. Alot of FI’s faimly have bad realtionships or will complain if they are not seated with certian people.
Opinions Of my mother and sisters who are bridesmaids. The only thing Fiance has asked for is a Simpson Cake Topper. Which I love the idea of and I’m haveing one custom made in our colors. My mother and sisters all hate the idea. “But its such a fancy wedding, why would you…” I hate to sound Bridezillay but it is my wedding lol.
By far number one on my list is:
1. THE FIL’s!!!!!! Especially the Future Mother-In-Law. It got worse when Father-In-Law decided to drink out of the same crazy Kool-Aid jug Future Mother-In-Law has been drinking out of her whole life.
Others as follows:
2. Budget: Destination Wedding wedding we had planned was going to cost half of what we’re spending now that it was switched to a local wedding. The reason for that? See # 1 above.
3. Finding a venue. Gosh we looked at about 8 or 9 places before we found THE venue. 5 of those in one day. At one point during that day I was standing in a 4H barn looking at a few goats out the window. I said to myself “Hmmmm how would this conversation go? Guess what FIL’s?? I gave up my beautiful Destination Wedding in St. Thomas and we’re getting married in a barn. We’ll have pony rides and a petting zoo for our guests!”
(No offense to Bee’s getting married in a barn, it’s just not my thing)
4. Having to DIY stuff because I can’t afford certain things. See #’s 1 & 2. I’m SO NOT crafty!!!! I have no clue what I’m doing! I walk into Michaels and get so overwhelmed I turn around and leave.
